Barack Obama described as prophet Moses by bishop Adulation of the Democratic nominee is building to a crescendo. Offering a prayer before a rally in Columbus, Ohio today, Cornal Garnett Henning, an AME bishop for parts of Ohio, West Virginia and Pennsylvania, compared him to Moses and Martin Luther King in the same breath. He thanked God for having "given us a Moses and a Martin called Barack Obama" and asked the Almighty to "grant that we together this nation under God may have the will to bring about the change we need" and ensure that "those who cast their sacred vote will not be deprived this right". The McCain campaign, you might remember, mocked Obama as a Moses figure in an ad entitled "the One" in August. STORY | VIDEO | PICTURES HERE Roxanne posted: quote:
This article is so true. Historically the world will see that Barrack is more significant than Jesus Christ. He is loved by every World Power and their citizens. I predict that within the first 18 months of Barrack's reign, there will be peace in the middle east and an end to World poverty. He is the savior of not only the United States but the entire World. I personally can't wait until tomorrow when he has officially captured the Presidency and released us from the hell that Bush has held us in. God Bless Barrack Obama.

That people really do not look at Obama as "the One". What really bothers me about this story is that he was introduced and prayed for in this manner. Obama has not denied he even allows it.

Just the other day (yesterday?) we had a thread about some guy running up to Sarah & Todd Palin to give them a message straight from God to stand strong, because they were divinely appointed. It's silly for anybody. -Dan.

As compared to a guy introducing Obama as the next Moses and publically praying for him as the next Moses......ummmm Do you see the difference?

Dan's not sure where he stands. On some issues he's for republicans and other issues for the dems. Like most moderates, he's the ball going back and forth on the ping pong table. First, Louis Farakhan calls Obama the messiah. Now this. And we on the right get accused of worshipping our candidates.

Yes, I'm a blind partisan. A blind Democratic partisan who who's been registered Republican his entire life, voted for Bush twice, George Pataki twice, did a research paper on Rush Limbaugh in the 9th grade and actually cheered on Rick Lazio as he walked across the stage to get Hillary to agree to some deal. Yes, there is a difference between the two. However, that one guy was just the first example I thought of off the top of my head. And his testimony was taken seriously by the right here, not mocked as the claims from the left have. -Dan.

The republican example was a message from God the Democratic is a message of he is bigger than Jesus. I do not believe the republican example tried to make him as big as God or the next Moses or anything like that. Just a message from God.

yikes! i just read the article that the OP provided. the world has gone crazy. however, you know that obama being the 1st black candidate to run for president, is a monumental occasion for the USA, and that of course he is a powerful symbol to black peopel,of whom some have lived thru the days before civil rights marches in the 1960's. and, some black people attribute spiritual terms to other figures,, its a cultural thing.. i'd have to go into detail to explain it.. but if you go to a black church, its a particular culture. I've learned a lot of things by attending. just remember OJ was the symbol of a black man getting even with the injustices of white people. people put up symbols just because they are of a certain physical characteristic, and they are powerful symbols of people who feel that their time is due. I just hope that people do not get their hopes up only to have them dashed against the ground. by the way on a poll yesterday, Evangelicals were leading McCain by 56% and black voters were leading obama 84%. These two men are the hope for each category, as we see with the christians here feeling mccain is their hope for chirstian values.

Obama being the first "black" president would be like me being the first "indian" president. Obama has very little negro bloodline. He has arab bloodlines. Very little negro blood. I have european bloodlines, with very little indian bloodline. But, I'm 100% American. Too bad there aren't real icons for them. OJ is a murderer and a thug.

Yes true... even though Obama is multi-racial, people still consider him black. so does he. oj is a murderer, however, there are some that believe he is innocent and has been framed. some also dont care, they are just glad that their symbol won that case.
