Resistance bands are good but you won't lose weight by just doing an exercise for ten minutes a day. You really have to watch your diet.

Ten minutes a day wont accomplish much of anything, sorry.

I had the "8 minute abs" video, remember that one? It was good - if you were doing 45 minutes of cardio every day, strength training 3x/week, and on a really good diet!

Doing something is always better than doing nothing. I can't imagine 10 minutes a day working ~ certainly not in a short space of time and people want results FAST so chances are no one will keep up with it long-term.

I have a couple of ten minute videos. Not sure if they are the same, but each ten minutes targets a specific area so if you do three of them, you get your 30 minutes of suggested exercise a day. But if you do one a day, you will notice a change in your muscle tone in those targeted areas. You just won't burn enough calories with that alone to lose weight.

10 minutes is better than nothing, and if gets someone on the road to better fitness then good for them-but if you are looking for a "quick fix"...I wouldn't hold my breathe. 10 minutes a day is hardly enough to make significant changes that "work".

I will tell you what has "worked" for me though-and I can assure you it wasn't 10 minutes a day!

Consistent, healthy dietary choices, and regular exercise (including regualr weight training and vigorous cardio workouts).

Can't argue with the results....I'm in my 40's. have had 3 kids, and am now wearing a Size 6 (from a 14) and have some pretty decent muscle for an old lady! .

Like a couple have said, 10 minutes is sure better than nothing. Somebody starting from total sedentary lifestyle would do well to get in 10 minutes a day. One would hope that would give them "The bug" and they would gradually do a little more until they were really making headway. Actually, A good HIT workout could be done in 15-20 minutes, but you'd really be sweating and panting to get results in that short a time.
The beauty of the quicker, ultra intense workout is that you keep burning calories well after the workout.

Ten minutes of exercise does hardly nothing. It isn't about the duration, but the quality of the workout.

I could jog for ten minutes and not work up a sweat. I could do high intervals for ten minutes and be sweating profusely. I'm guaranteed to see results over quality than I am over duration.

Expecting results from something like that, though, would be more frustrating than inspiring. People are more likely to just give up than to progress from these gimmicks, I think.

If done properly it can work as a filler workout during times it's hard to squeeze a workout in.

And at a low level it can be used as an introductory routine.

But to base one's whole fitness program around it, isn't realistic for the majority of the people. Like DPR said, it's all built around intensity\quality and most people don't have the discipline to perform at the proper level on an ongoing basis.

Well, despite the discouraging posts, I went ahead and bought the Deluxe package. It contains 8 workouts at 10 minutes a piece:

~Total Body
~Lower Body
~Abs
~Cardio
~Yoga Flex
~Total Body 2
~Core Cardio
~Upper Body

I started following the eating plan that came with it -- very healthy, no junk -- and doing 3 of the workouts every day. Let me tell you that by the time I am done ONE of the workouts sweat is running off me like water! I pace myself to be able to do all three.

These are my results in just one week:

Weight: -6.4 lbs.
Chest: -1 in.
Waist: -3 in.
Hips: -1.5 in.

Am I going to keep on using this workout? You bet! There is enough variety in it to keep me interested, plus it is VERY challenging!
