I dont understand why we are bailing out fannie mae and freddie mac
for releasing money for people to get mortgages that are way beyond
their means.With all the bridges and interstructure roads,etc. that need to
be repaired or replaced we could have taken that money to create
constructive jobs that would last for years. The people losing their jobs
could be re-employed in the construction industry and learn new job
skills.
This is what happened in the 1930s in the TVA project,hoover dam,grand
coolee dam,etc.,etc., There were 10,000 people working on the GRAND
COULEE dam at its peak and the construction period was from 1934 to
1941 and beyond.A lot of people learned job skills that were used in the
armed forces in world war 2 and the defense industries of world wat 2.
