Which concealer do you use and/or which one conceals the best? Do you use a different concealer for blemishes than for under eye circles? I use a concealer mainly for my under eye area, but for the occasional blemish too. I haven't found one that works as well as I like yet, looking for suggestions.

Laura Mercier's Secret Camouflage works wonders for me... you use very little but it covers so well (and it's not as greasy/oily/cakey/heavy as so many of the others). I just started using it in June, but I don't think I'll switch. It comes with two colors in a case, so you can make sure that you blend your right color (it's not as hard as it sounds). I have black spotches from acne and eczema, but my natural skin is light, so whatever I use has to really be able to mask everything well without making me into some pseudo-color. :)

Hmm, never heard of that company. I don't think that is available where I live. Sounds good though.

I know for me, I found that it wasn't necessarily the concealer I was using, but the way I was applying it. I was using a very light shade and then applying foundation over it, which by doing so actually wiped off the concealer for the most part. Now I apply foundation first and then a more truer shade of concealer, then roll my ring finger on top to warm it and blend it in more evenly. Works tons better for me and a lot more natural looking, too.

This sounds like a good idea... what brand do you use? Is it a liquid or a cake-like concealer? I had a hard time making the heavy ones look natural.

I use a thick creamy kind from Just for Redheads (cause I am one...) But I've also used one from Avon that was good...just gotta get the right shade and all. And they'll take returns so if you order one that just won't work, you haven't wasted your money.

Aah!! I use Just for Redheads, too and was going to order their concealer. JFR will exchange too if the color isn't just right. They recommended a Mineral Mint Concealer or Mineral Concealer stick. I had no idea what their quality is like, so I haven't ordered yet.

I wasn't crazy about the mint concealer...it was just too much for me or maybe I didn't bother to try and figure out how to use it long enough...who knows I absolutely love JFR...have been using them for years when it comes to things like foundation and getting the right shade for eyebrows, etc.

I've used them for many years, too. The color of the masceras is fantastic... the only problem is that even the waterproof ones would smear on me, giving me racoon-eyes by the end of the day. I need to order more very soon, maybe I can get a consultation.

yeh, I'd get a consult. I think I did that early about foundation. If I wear mascara on my lower lashes I only apply it to the roots and don't pull it through to the end. That seems to help a little. With daily sweat, etc. the lashes that touch my face become a transport for the mascara to bleed under my eyes onto my face. I've never met anyone else that uses JFR...that's just so cool!

Luckily the store is within driving distance. I know it's sold worldwide, but I had to go to the website to see who all near me sells it. I'm thinking about just ordering online; I've already gone and had my "profile" made, so I know what colors are mine. :) I know people use that concealer to completely cover up black eyes (and you don't need much); for some reason I thought that was awesome...because my dark spots are just as bad, if not worse.

Hey, since we're the only two people who use it... think we should become their models? I believe that is a superb idea! I heard Jillian Anderson (dana scully from x-files) and another actress that I can't remember the name of, use it...but that might just be rumor.

I've used Lancome's Maquicomplet Correcteur for years. It's yellow based for my hereditary dark circles. I love it because it's water based and doesn't transfer mascara like oil based concealors do. I no longer wear mascara because I kept getting eye infections and traced it back to mascara, but I do recall the constant fight to find a concealor that didn't transfer yet offered the coverage I needed for the dark circles. Really, those circles are the main reason I "need" make-up and if I'm not going to be able to conceal them, I might as well skip the rest!! Anyhow, it's pricey, but you get what you pay for in make-up. Currently, I am using Bare Essentials Concealor and I don't like it as well for the dark circles. It's a bit drying under the eye and I'm starting to get to an age where that's a problem (welcome to 34!!) It works very well though on blemishes and on the age spot on my cheek. When that is gone, I will go back to Lancome concealor.
