I was wondering is there a birth control pill that does not kill the egg? I am thinking about going on birth control but wasnt sure... I just do not know what to really think....
I was told I should get birth control and take it before the period im going to have on my wedding/honeymoon.....
but is it something I should go ahead and do now?

I am just echoing what the other posters have said about watch closely any changes that occur to your mentally or emotionally if you decide to start birth control. I don't do well emotionally while on the pill and in the end it is better that I not be taking them. Maybe something to atleast discuss with your doctor and your future hubby. There are other forms of birth control that you can do as well.

Hmm well I haven't decided to go on the pill yet but it was just a thought... with out going into debate I know awhile back hearing about some b.c pillz that killed the egg... then I had also heard they were some pills that were different from other ones... and such... and Im not really heard much info on how spermicide is...and I have no idea where do you get this? I havent adventure to those kinda isle in stores yet to really know >_>
eh well I plan to visit a doctor soon because im 22 and still never had a papsmear >_> and figured I could talk to them about this kinda stuff.... (eh) lol

spermicide is not very effective by itself. It should be either used in conjunction with condoms, diaphragms or sponges. Ive never seen straight spermicide in the store.
Talk to your doctor. Absolutely. Good idea.
there are different types of hormonal BCs out there, but the weaker the hormones (usually called a mini-pill or progesterone only) are more likely to kill an egg than a full pill or those with estrogen in them. The reason is the more the hormones, the less likely you are to ovulate.
There are several other BC options out there. You can do barrier method (diaphragm, condom, sponge, etc). Diaphragms have to be fitted by your dr. they are a little tricky to get in/out, but with practice are just fine.
condoms we all know about.
Hormonal BC includes the pill, depo shots, Nuva Ring, etc. Those ahve their own concerns with them.
and there is Natural Family Planning or Fertility Awareness. This is NOT the Rhythm method. Basically it's watching your fertility signs and knowing when you ovulate and abstaining (or using barrier method) during that time. It can be very effective when used properly (as with all methods, really).
Any method you choose you should discuss with your fiance. It may be your body, but it's his future potential babies and his sex life. So let him know what options you are considering. Share with him the literature you get from teh doctor.
Don't take everything you read here as bible. Don't take everything you get from your doctor as bible either. Take all the info, go do some other research, and make your own decision based on YOUR body and YOUR convictions and YOUR relationship with your man.

If your concern is a fertilized egg being prevented of implanting, just abstain or use condoms about halfway through your pack for about 3 days. That way, if there is a chance that you ovulate, you don't have to worry about the egg being fertilized and later being prevented of implanting.
BC affects everyone differently. I've taken the Pill, low-hormone pills, tri-level pills, the patch, Depo, Lunelle and I've been fine with all of them.
Edited to add: If you do decide you want to take a pill, I have a couple recommendations. If you weigh less than 160lbs. low-hormone pills like Orthotricycline Lo, and if you weigh more than 160lbs. I recommended a tri-level pill like TriLevelen. A tri-level pill gives you more hormones when you're closest to "ovulating" and less hormones right before and right after your period. The less hormones the better, I say.

hmm well Im calling tomorrow morning and seeing about getting appointment this week...
I dont think diaphragm is for me... I couldnt handle that and Im sure I wouldnt put it in right...although we plan to use condoms he thinks bc pill would help too... so I dont know I will talk with my doctor and figure whats right for me...

You can try the Nuva Ring, it's one of the lowest doses out there and doesn't have much in the way of side effects(for me anyway).

Thank you for making that distinction, Christina..upthread there's been reference to not wanting to stop an egg from implanting..hello, no unfertilized egg is going to implant, lol. If dropping unfertilized eggs was a bad thing, we'd all be being really bad every month, lol. It's embryos(an egg actually fertilized with sperm) we want to be careful of, not plain old eggs.

I was on BCP for the first year of our marriage. I'm really glad we had that time to figure everything out before having to deal with anything extra related to alternate methods. It was much easier to be spontaneous when on the pill. I had a few side effects the first couple of months related to water retention and a sore chestal region, but after that went away I couldn't tell a difference. It didn't affect my mood or mental state at all. The only lingering effect I had was dryness, but there's an easy fix for that.
I had to go off it after a year because it affected my blood pressure, and while condoms aren't the end of the world, they are less convenient than the pill. However, of the alternate methods out there, we've found condoms to be the easiest. If you do decide to use them, I recommend the SKYN brand.

It's actually Zygotes that you want to be careful of, it's not an embryo until it implants

Ah, zygote. So, a zygote is a fertilized egg, and an embryo is a fertilized egg that has implanted? It's just easier to call it a baby, LOL.

She got a different brand and did fine after that. I started taking BCP when I was 19 to help deal with cramps coupled with very irregular periods (looking back, it was probably the first sign of PCOS... hm...) and never had a problem with them. My husband says that I was in a better mood after going off the pill, but I think that my mood change was due to the fact that we were trying to get pregnant after almost 7 years of waiting and didn't really have anything to do with the pill itself 
Oh yeah, embryo....I couldn't remember the name. I know some people can get offended if it's called a baby that eary, but that's what I'm used to calling it most of the time.
I have a doctor appointment for 2:15.... its my first time going to a doctor like that... Its a bit crazy to think about and I hope that doctor doesn't hurt me... Im not even sure if its a woman or a man... I just know it was the only appointment this week left... and my mom recommended the place...she also told me she took BC Pills and they didn't bother her really... she said people who are active and play sports have a less crampy and painful period...so maybe it want be so bad...
