It is. I don't know if Nesher has posted lately but he was in seminary working on his PhD.

What about Lee Stroebel? His books are easy to read and really fun. Plus, they chronicle his path from being an atheist to a Christian. The titles you might want to consider are:

1. The Case for Faith
2. The Case for Christ
3. The Case for a Creator

Also, no apologetics study would be complete without reading C.S. Lewis's books "Mere Christianity" and "The Problem of Pain".

Finally, check out Dinesh D'Souza's book "What's So Great About Christianity". It's one of the best defenses of Christian faith I've found and he does it in a way that will help you when talking with skeptics. In fact, you might want to check out the hour-long debate he had with Christopher Hitchens (authr of "God is not Great"). You can see it for free at http://www.dineshdsouza.com. It's really worth taking a look.

Handbook of Christian Apologetics by Peter Kreeft and Ronald Tacelli. Best one i've read, hands down.

The list linked above mentions William Lane Craig - he has an excellent website here.

On the site he has a great Q&A section, and a list of articles.

I would also reccomend papers by Alvin Platinga.

I've heard Ravi Zacharias is very well grounded but haven't had the time to dig into his resources. Matt Slick of CARM supports him. It has only been about 6 months that I've become a real student of apologetics. I think it has been a great benefit to strengthening my beliefs. I wish I had been more aware of apologetics years ago.
Another great site that comes to mind is http://www.answersingenesis.org/

I like The Everlasting Man, by GK Chesterton. :)
It's a good book, funny as well

I'm a big fan of books from Reasons to Believe. They publish several books showing scientifically and philosophically why Christianity makes sense. The Creator and the Cosmos shows the amazing design of the universe. The Genesis Question goes through the first 11 chapters of Genesis, maybe not nailing everything down precisely, but showing how they could be true. Origins of Life looks at the many complexities facing the naturalistic view of life's origin, and shows how the evidence is compatible with the Bible's view on life's origin. Who Was Adam? looks at numerous problems with human evolution. A World of Difference is about the superiority of the Christian worldview compared with other views.

I highly recommend Dinesh D'Souza. His book "What's So Great About Christianity" is fantastic. As is the video of his debate with Christopher Hitchens, which can be viewed at www.dineshdsouze.com

Watch it!

I don't know every book on the subject, but when I had to deal with some questions some time ago I was much helped by:

This book by Francis Schaeffer, and these books by C.S.Lewis.

Both authors are of course writing for their contemporary audience, but these books still hold some very solid reasoning supporting our faith IMO

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Josh McDowell's book "The New Evidence That Demands A Verdict." If I could only put in words how much that book helped me, I would. His life's testimony is enough to throw you for a spin. Just curious, but has anyone read his book, or even heard of him?

I second the opinion of txparent and highly recommend Lee Strobel's award-winning, popular level apologetics books:

The Case for Christ
The Case for Faith
The Case for a Creator

I personally came to fully believe in Christ as a result of an undergraduate Bible study examining the first two books (The Case for Faith and The Case for Christ).

Please feel welcome to ask any questions about the books and author Lee Strobel. I have taught Bible studies using them in the past.

Try...Handbook Of Christian Apologetics by Kreeft and Tacelli. Definately valuable and have already used material gleaned from this book in debating unbelievers.

I second this. I keep it by my bedside, along with "The Complete Evangelism Guidebook".
