to quote the old Dean Martin song.

how do you normally eat eggs, if you do, and what do you put on them.

Me: Over well, salt and pepper. I also like goldenrod eggs.

You can choose more than one option on the poll.

By the way, you ketchup people gross me out!

I usually have my eggs for supper. I rarely eat breakfast.

I like 'em scrambled lightly, over easy and in omelets. And hard cooked on sandwiches. But I didn't vote for boiled because it didn't occur to me that that was the same as hard cooked. I think I need some egg protein to get my mental faculties performing this morning.

I eat ketchup with scrambled eggs. My kids used to ask for "eggs with keputch and a fork".

edit to ask....what is 'goldenrod style'????

Goldenrod Eggs

2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons flour
1 cup milk
˝ teaspoon salt
4 hard boiled eggs
In a small saucepan, over medium heat, make a white sauce by melting butter, adding the flour and stirring in the milk. Stir until the sauce thickens. Chop the whites of the hard-boiled eggs, and crumble the yellow to a fine consistency. Add to sauce and serve on toast. The yellow that is spread over the egg is the "goldenrod" part.

my grandmother used to make this for me. Wonderful! I think it was popular in the 1920's.

I chose scrambled well and in a casserole. I also prefer them for dinner than breakfast.

I missed the omlet choice.

Oh, and scrambled eggs should look very different than an omlet with no filling: they should be mixed before cooking and then scrambled while they are cooking so they are fluffy and loose not in a big egg sheet.

Good heavens, that sounds delicious!

I know what we're having for supper tonight.

I chose scrambled well and omlets.

Scrambled well with salt and pepper.

Omlets with everything but cheese and the kitchen sink.

Perfectly hard cooked eggs that aren't rubbery with bright yellow, not green, yolks....

Cover eggs with cold water. Bring to a boil. REMOVE FROM HEAT! Cover and let sit 15 minutes. Rinse with cold water to stop cooking.

I also like egg salad sandwiches, and deviled eggs. Not for breakfast, however.

I like a fried egg sandwich with crispy bacon, on toast. Home made.

Sometimes I will spread a layer of grits in there too.

Scrambled well with salt and pepper

Scrambled well with sharp cheddar

Over Well

Hard boiled

Omelettes with any and/or all of the following: bell peppers, onions, ham, sausage, bacon, spinach, tomato, mushrooms, jalapenos.

I also love a good QUICHE!!!

It goes without saying, eggs are always better with a side of grits! (preferably cheese grits)

I can't believe no one said they like them the way Dean Martin did in the song.

How did he like them?

Last night I was tired, so we had an "egg" dinner:

I took four slices of whole grain bread and "rolled them flat". I sprayed a baking dish with Pam, and then laid the bread down. I whipped in a bowl six eggs with salt and pepper and a little skim milk.

I topped the bread with sharp cheddar, turkey ham, bell peppers, onions, spinach and jalapenos.

Then I poured the egg mixture over. Topped with a little more cheese and baked it.

I served it with sliced tomatoes.

We were all happy.

Favorites:
Smoked salmon scramble - onions, red bell peppers, green bell peppers, hash browns and eggs thrown into a skillet with some good smoked salmon added at the end.
2nd favorite - smoked salmon benedict. Substitute smoked salmon for the canadian bacon.

Lived in salmon country in Seattle long enough to develop a taste for that.

Dean Martin and Helen O'Connell duet:

HOW DO YOU LIKE YOUR EGGS IN THE MORNING?

(H) How do you like your eggs in the morning
(D) I like mine with a kiss
(H) Boiled or fried (D) I'm satisfied as long as I get my kiss
(H) How do you like your toast in the morning
(H) I like mine with a hug
(H) Dark or light (D) the world's all right as long as I get my hug

(D) I've got to have my love in the morning
(H) Or the rest of my day is positively mayhem
(D) I'm a regular monster
(H) How do you like your eggs in the morning
(D) I like mine with a kiss
(H) Up or down (D) I'll never frown eggs can be almost bliss
(D) Just as long as I get my kiss

My vote is "scrambled lightly".

I pour the eggs into a bowl discarding shells. Mix in bowl so that all eggs are poured in together. None gets a head start on the heat. A bare minimum of vegetable oil is preheating in the pyrex skillet.

Heat until lightly scrambled and dress to taste which may include salt, black pepper and/or louisiana hot sauce.

If I scramble eggs, I put in a little milk. Fluffs them up.

Does anyone eat eggs sunny-side up anymore? Due to health risks, I know some eateries won't serve them that way.

Yes, I do, when I go out, but I don't make them that way at home, simply because I always break them when I lift them out of the pan. I don't even make fried eggs at home because I break the yokes when I flip.

My favorite way to eat eggs poached medium. Either with grainy toast or Benedict.

Sunny side up if I am at home and having hashbrowns, bacon and toast.

Over medium if I am eating out (they don't usually like to make up or poached eggs.) or in an egg sandwich.

Scrambled Medium is best with a breakfast burrito. I also like quiche, omelettes and baked egg casseroles.

I like egg salad sandwiches as well and eat them at least once a week. I add egg to my tuna salad also.

Most of my baking will include an egg or two.

I am very particular about how my eggs are cooked I would rather eat them at home than out.

They have done recent studies that eggs are not as bad for you as some think, so I eat them 3-4 times a week.

I think they used to say that you should only have a few a week because of cholesterol. And I remember making a definite conscious decision to live dangerously. Now it seems they're backtracking a bit. Yay! I so love eggs!

(Hmm. Who are they anyway?)
