well, I'm not so sure that it did backfire, but the people that I talk too aren't even believing that Joe could have been a plant. I know that questions are planted in audiences and it would seem to me evident that it could happen both ways. Maybe it would seem odd that the repubs would pick someone who had difficulty with paying his taxes, knowing that that may come out in the news also?

I don't think he was a plant. Can you imagine what the mainstream media would do to John McCain if he were and they found out? I don't think they'd take that kind of a chance. Not to mention, how would they know exactly where to plant someone? I think Joe is simply an intelligent person who asked an intelligent question and it happened to be on camera and Obama slipped and told the truth.

I am Joe. I am not a plant. I am a real man with real concerns and real questions.

If i am not mistaken didn't Obama come to the neighborhood in which Joe owns a house (which is the tax he owes so he doesn't owe federal taxes). Did the RNC know far enough in advance of where Obama would campaign that they could get this guy into a house for long enough that he has seen a tax bill?
