My church has a two-year lay ministry training program for those who are actively involved in the ministry of my church. The whole Bible is read in two years and other books are read such as books dealing with the Christian life, family relationships, hermeneutics, and theology. The first year is spent on learning about the Christian life and how to interpret the Bible. The second year is spent on learning systematic theology. I teach children's Sunday School at my church. I completed the first year of the training program and it has been a blessing. I start the second year of the program next week. Do you have a training program like this at your church?

Hi! We don't have a training program like that at our church, it sounds great. It's always wonderful to have solid biblical courses available to everyone. What we do have at our church for training is access to a two year worship training program through www.thevirtualschoolofmusic.com. It trains those who want to be musicians in the church (i.e. worship leaders and ministers) as well as those who want to be musicians in the secular arenas. (It includes a course on biblical worship as well as private lessons on your instrument.) Great program for mentoring worship leaders as well. They've been involved with their music training program in Canada, US and Latin America. You can check them out online. Do you have a worship/music program like this already in your church?

My church does not have a worship/music training program. The program at your church sounds interesting. It is good that your church is helping people who are gifted in that area. Are there a lot of churches that have that kind of program?

I don't know how many churches are using the program/teachers. You can make it customizable for whatever size of group or specialize courses you need.
