I would vote for John McCain because:
- He has much more experience than Obama 
- I know what his beliefs are/where he stands on the issues, and he isn't changing them all the time
- He doesn't make me suspicious
- He didn't have any reason to leave his church
- He does not support Nationalized (Universal) Health Care
- He supports many alternative energy solutions

McCain because he will appoint better SC nominees. He also won't allow the first two items on the Dems agenda to pass, card check and the fairness doctrine.

I'm starting to lean towards Obama, not just because I like him on health care, but also to spite the Republicans for leaving the people in the dust in order to support coporations and the do anything to make a buck crowd.
Who knows though? I may end up not voting at all this year because I'm pretty much disgusted with all the parties.

McCain
- His stance on abortion
- His views on our energy problem (solution: all of the above, drill, nuclear, solar, wind, etc.)
- No tax increase
- Win the war in Iraq
- Experience
- Free Market solutions for healthcare
- SCJs

I'm beginning to lean toward McCain but I feel like the choice is between two bowls of ... stuff.
If you know what I mean.
I can't vote for Nader but I may vote for a "third party" (if one is on my ballot that I can stomach) just to make a (very insignificant) statement against this two party system that is producing uninspiring, low quality candidates.
McCain's VP is going to have a big impact on my choice as, ghoulish though it may sound, he or she very well may be the next president sooner rather than later. And if God willing McCain survives his first term he may not be up for a second (the presidency takes a great toll on those who hold the office), giving the VP a big incumbent bounce, especially if conditions improve.

In fairness McCain's beliefs / stands are way different than they were a few years ago. He admits as much but has explained why he has changed on most of them. Obama has had policy evolutions over a shorter period of time without as much explanation and they have gone from positions needed to win the Democratic primary to positions that will help win the general election. McCain's shifts have not been as "conveinent".

Once again, a third party is a wasted vote. In 2008, the winner will be obama or McCain.
I hate McCain.
But my two main issues are national security and SCOTUS, I will absolutely vote for McCain.

The flawed candidates are produced by the media. The media now controls the political system. They can make or break a candidate. We may as well give all the ballots to Fox, Rush Limbaugh, CNN, and MSNBC and have them pick our leaders. Their doing it anyway, whether we know it or not.

Just cannot vote the demokrat ticket because of the social issues (abortion etc.), and the tax and spend mentality.

I know one of McCain's choices for VP is Tim Pawlenty, governor of Minnesota, which has voted democrat for many years. But I think I heard somewhere that McCain is doing almost as well as Obama with Minnesota. So, I wonder if McCain picked Pawleny, if that would get Minnesota to vote for McCain?
