My wife is having a really tough time at work. A job she used to love she now dreads. I was wondering if anyone knows of a good encouraging scripture for this situation. Thanks Mark

quote:
But now, this is what the Lord says-- He Who created you, O Jacob, He who formed you, O Israel: "Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are Mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. For I am the Lord, your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior;..." Isaiah 43:1-3a

My wife is having a really tough time at work. A job she used to love she now dreads. I was wondering if anyone knows of a good encouraging scripture for this situation. One thing to consider is that the frustrations at work may not be a call to endure suffering but a prod to consider making a change. Many people today consider women working outside the home to be the norm or a necessity. Maybe the Lord wants you to revisit this perspective. Many people have survived lower standards of living if it meant having a stronger family. Titus 2:3-5 The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed. If not a call to work in the home, sometimes work frustrations can be a call to a different job.

Thanks Mark I guess it would depend on WHAT she dreads about the job. New Supervisor? Gossip? Having problems meeting the goals because rule changes? Them not honoring their commitments? I bet everyone could come up with some scripture if we could have a little more detail to find someone she could apply in her situation.

Where does it say Woman thou shall not get a job?

not even knowing me or my wife. Well, of course we don't know you!!! You barely introduced yourself, all of two or three sentences and we're supposed to know you? You came here, asked a question and people are trying to throw out ideas. If you don't like this person's idea then move on to the next one. Don't be rude and obnoxious.
