I'm new to the community. This is my first post. I started working for the government about 8 months ago. My job requires a top secret clearance and for 8 months I've been sitting in a building outside of the perimeter doing absolutely nothing. Most clearances seem to go smoothly, but they do a very thorough investigation and if they find anything it can complicate the process. I have a very complicated past. I have to be completely honest about everything because, believe me, they will find out everything. Specifically, I had to report the drug and alcohol abuse in my past. Some as recent as a few years ago and this has caused flags to go up with the investigator. I've already had a 3-hour follow up interview focused on drugs and alcohol. I was honest and that's all that matters. That was 2 months ago. I got a call last week and they want to interview me yet again!!! It is rare for applicants to have this many interviews as far as I know. They seem to be finding inconsistencies with what I reported. This job brought me back home to my family and it is very important that I get cleared, otherwise I might have to move away again. Please please pray that my interview goes well and that it will lead to me getting my clearance. I'm so nervous and I'm just ready for this process to be over. I know God will do what is best, but I'm hoping that getting through this clearance issue is the best option for me.
