I started a new business in June and have yet to see any profit.I never had much of an advertising budget so I have tried the free ad sites, free press releases and have joined many, many blogs.I believe in my product so I don't want to give up yet.If anyone here knows of a way I can promote my site on the web (with no money!)Please visit and tell me what you think! ReUseIt Projects @Garbagegifts.com I could also use some prayers! Thanks

You said you don't really have an advertising budget, so have you investigated goggle.com's Adwords? We have received far more sales leads for our business from Adwords than we have from newspaper or any other type of advertising. And you can try it for practically nothing.

Not trying to be mean, but frankly I don't understand the point of your web site... You are promoting re-use and you too can do it at home for far less than what you pay in stores, but then you expect to sell the re-use/recycled items for more than I'd pay at a local dollar store? I'd say it's not your marketing, but your pricing and product that the market has rejected.

Thanks for the honest critizism. What the site is promoting is hard to explain without giving away the details which I am trying to avoid! I have come up with several new techniques that allow the purchaser to easily apply over and over again not just one item, using recycle items such as coat hangers and plastic trash bags,etc..(I am a big fan of the dollar store too!) thanks again..

Have you tried selling in a brick and mortar store? I know it seems antiquated, but many people still prefer going to a brick and mortar store to buy books over ordering off the net. When ordering off the net, the time and wait, as well as the cost of shipping, have to be traded off by a good discounted price.

My husband has been trying to find good (CHEAP) ways to market an actual website. I think because of the target market, he did have some luck with craigslist. It's a lot to keep up with on a daily basis and he lost his partner who was doing that. I'm going to ask him if he's tried the Google Adwords. Unfortunately, he's kinda got this on the back burner since the partner backed out and he got a new "day job" but I'd love to see it crank back up. It's tough, I know.

I use myspace and send bulletins out to my friends and ask them to pass them along. They do that for me. I also do vendor fairs to get myself out there and get my cards out and book parties or get new leads on customers. Another thing is that while I am not familiar with your product, I am selling a product which I 100% love and would tell anybody in the world that they should use it because it is that good. If you don't have that, then it isn't the right business for you. I also use my friends who e:Mail me. I send out an e:mail a few times a year and ask them to pass it along and it does include a very brief description of my business and my website. Those are all free, and I have gotten customers that way. I also do make sure to tell people what I do when I meet them and they ask me where I work. That is the biggest and most free thing there is. Not only do they always ask me "What is L'Bri?" but then I get to give them a sample and my card. Free advertising, direct contact, and I do ask if I can call them later and talk about it more. But my products are products that can be marketed that way.
