As Daniel has mentioned in his blog this morning, it looks like Salem Publishing has launched a new site - www.southerngospel.com. In the lower, right-hand corner, they are featuring the latest comments from these forums in a section called "Discussions"!!

That has not yet been publicly announced.
It is nice having something up at that domain name for whoever may wonder about the genre and just type the domain in.

Seems like this domain has been around for sometime, but 'pointed' to the Singing News site. I doubt it will replace SN, but is just an extra presence, much like Daniel described. I guess you could say it's mainly for "wondering wanders".

This is ANOTHER reason that we all need to make sure that every single post is uplifting and positive! These "snippets" will be "out of context" so the readers won't necessarily have any idea of what has gone on before each post!

This definitely brings that point closer to home, doesn't it. It's so strange to me to think of my words being displayed all over the place but any time I post anything online, I'm reminded that that seems to be the nature of it.

Here's the problem: If you're just saying ditto, the code leaves the previously quoted post as the one that displays in the short feed.

Maybe we're looking at two different websites. I see a LOT of difference between SouthernGospel.com and SingingNews.com.

As a new person to these forums, I think this new site will make it easier for new fans to find info. I had not heard about the Singing News magazine untill a few years ago when I saw a group at our church. They had it on their table. Anything that will draw more people to this wonderful music is a plus.

I am talking about the new website sN has started. They were showing posts that were being made down at the bottom right of the home page in the new website. Hope that makes more sense.

I see a number of differences in the two sites. Obviously, the two sites are closely related.
I think it's good for the domain to be active and independent of the magazine to a certain degree.
I think it's odd to have a photo of the Hoppers as part of the website's title...not sure what message they're trying to convey with that. At first, I thought it might be a spot they'd purchased, but nothing happens when I click on the photo.
