any way to recieve discounts on rent as a church? Did you find that the store front was better than say, an industrial office area?

The planter church I was part of rented space from a local community college every Sunday morning. It was a great deal. We had use of a large lecture room plus a few regular classrooms. We met that way for a couple of years, I think.

Exactly. We only used the rooms for our Sunday services. All other Bible studies and events were held in homes.

Well is one place better than another, I would believe that would depend on the demographics of the area. Industrial areas might not be so good because they seem to be more out of the way, or a greater distance for folks to travel from home. Store fronts are good, and month by month rental agreements on both sides are acout as reasonable as one can get. Meeting rooms at hotels are good for a start up, no utility deposits, good clean rest rooms, easy to find, weekend rates especially on Sunday are usually resapnable, they have sound equipment if the congregation gets so large that you need it. And my wife always loved the no clean up afterwards (and I did also). Homes are alright, but you always eliminate some folks from coming because of history with the folks in the house. They are a lot better if you can find someone who just moved into the neighborhood. (also check the zoning restrictions). Thanks RC

Our church's plant meets in a school that they just rent on Sunday morning. It seems more economical than renting a building full time. ALso, the Christian school that I work at has a church that uses their facilities on SUnday AM's
