Decries raids with 'nursing mothers torn from babies'

Sen. Barack Obama, speaking to the annual conference of the National Council of La Raza yesterday, pumped up the crowd by describing how Hispanic communities are "terrorized" by government immigration officers.
"When communities are terrorized by ICE immigration raids," Obama said, "when nursing mothers are torn from their babies, when children come home from school to find their parents missing, when people are detained without access to legal counsel, when all that is happening, the system just isn’t working, and we need to change it."
The crowd, quietly listening before Obama began his tirade, reacted immediately to the sentiment that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials are terrorizing communities. Applause, shouts and cheering swelled through the audience as Obama characterized atrocities allegedly committed by government officials.

I heard about this also. Although it is another reason I would never vote for Obama, sadly he is not the only one who feels this way. It seems to be a sentiment held by many politicians, also including Republicans.

Obama was preaching to the choir. La Raza (which, btw, means "the race") are HUGE advocates of completely free & open borders. At least in this direction.

Yes,but only partly correct.
In the conspiracy arena one would say el presidente Bush would cede the southwest Back to Mexico,then run for president of the "new" Nuevo Mexico.
I doubt Obama would want to see all those tax dollars of his potential socialist vicitms given to another country.

Just how are we to believe that the people he has been associated with and their beliefs have had absolutely no influence on him, or his wife?
Just how are we to believe that he is not just playing another race card to ensure his election, because we all have been told that if he looses it's not going to be about his stand on the issues, it is all going to be about race?
Just how are we to believe that this man is really about unity?
