What's your thoughts on Barack Obama's recent visits to Paris, Germany and The U.K., including The Mideast? And what about Obama's interaction with its prominent leaders like Angela Merkel, Nicolas Sarkozy, & Gordon Brown?

*NOTE: that thread title is just in jest...

McCain goaded Obama into going to Iraq and the middle east in the first place and then complained about all the media attention he got when he went overseas. I guess that political ploy blow up in McCain's face. What did McCain expect? Obama to get lost on his way to Iraq so he could soak it up for his anti-Obama ads?

IMO Obama's overseas trip went well We got to see how he would handle himself with the leaders of other countries and I think he represented America well. His only downfall may have been that he came across as "too" presidential, but I don't see how he could have done things differently given his popularity abroad. It reminded me of Regan's trip abroad.

In the eyes of McCain, Obama is in a no-win scenario here.

First McCain moaned about Obama having not been to Iraq in 900 days; now he's doing it again because Obama did go, the trip was a success, and he brought out big crowds.

Either way, McCain's going to find something to grouse about. Maybe he needs his banana pudding.

Except when Reagan went abroad he actually challenged our enemies, lead Europe down a new path, and saw results. He didn't apologize for being American and beg Europe to overlook those weaknesses and help us, all the while appealing to the masses.

Are you suggesting Obama did so in his Berlin speech, or am I misreading you?

Arrogant, he's acting all presidential and he's not even president....yet, if ever.

Roll up TO MAKE A RESERVATION, roll up for the mystery tour.
The magical mystery tour is waiting to take you away,
Waiting to take you away.

Roll up, roll up for the mystery tour.
Roll up, roll up for the mystery tour.
Roll up WE'VE GOT EVERYTHING YOU NEED, roll up for the mystery tour.
Roll up SATISFACTION GUARANTEED, roll up for the mystery tour.
The magical mystery tour is hoping to take you away,
Hoping to take you away.

Roll up, roll up for the mystery tour.
Roll up, roll up for the mystery tour.
Roll up AND THAT'S AN INVITATION, roll up for the mystery tour.
Roll up TO MAKE A RESERVATION, roll up for the mystery tour.
The magical mystery tour is coming to take you away,
Coming to take you away.
The magical mystery tour is dying to take you away,

If I recall, McCain released two ads in May referring to himself as "President McCain."

Is that not arrogant?

I've read somewhere (from a conservative news site no less), that the Germans who attended Obama's speech are not all that impressed, if any. It's almost as if the Germans know something that some of us Americans don't... that is, if you're part of the MSM! I'll try to locate that news link and let everyone critique from there...

Originally I thought maybe I try to get an op-ed from Star Parker: I think I can one-up this with a link from Der Spiegel:

Further reading from Der Spiegel... hint: speech more to do with America than Germany.
