Ok this may sound like a really silly question but hey here goes!!
How do you go about a testimony?
I have no idea what you do, say, anything! I've never heard anyone else's. I'm just curious about what you put and when you're supposed to say them. I don't know anything about them so any info would be greatly received!

God Bless

1. Tell where you've been saved from(briefly without many gory details.)

2. Tell where and in what circumstance of your conversation; the point of your salvation from your sins.

3. Finally, tell what change(s) have and are being made in your life experience.

Yeah, that's a good list, LCannon. If I might add my thoughts, it's kind of like a Christian life highlight film. Think of it like hitting your pre-Christian lowpoints and your post Salvation highpoints.

Well said, LCannon.
You can include enough details about how you became a Christian, so if your listener wants to become a Christian, too, they'll know how.

right so I say where I was before, how I accepted Jesus, and what he's done for me since He came into my life? Sorry I need things abit simpler! :-)
So when do you say these testimonies? Can you just say them when ever or do you say them just at church?

Hello sunseasky

Basically a testimony consists of three part; how it was before you knew the Lord, how you came to the Lord and what He is doing now. Just share each othe these parts as they occured.

Perhaps the simplest testimony is, 'Blessed assurances Jesus is mine!...once I was blind but now I can see the result of Jesus in your life.'

Often people dwell too much on the things they were delivered from and not enough emphasis on the obedience gained and looking forward. Perhaps those things are significant to you personally but rehearsing past woes are tiring to most people. Maybe write down the circumstance of your salvation experience and contrast it with your pre-salvation story.
