I haven't seen this one yet, but intend to this week. From the clips I've seen on tv I know it will be good. I especially like the clip of the lady on the porch saying, "We've believed a lie." And I plan to "vote" with my pocket book for real family movies. If it's up to my expectations I will also purchase the DVD. I usually just wait for them to come out on DVD, unless it's apparent to send a message to hollywood in which case this one falls into my guidelines.

Yes,its by Francine Rivers. She's a Christian author. She's really good, she's one of my favorite authors.I'm excited about the movie,I just hope that it stays on track with the book.Especially about God,the book has a very strong message about salvation.

well, to my shigrin, I was too late to see the movie. I was too booked to go last week and when I went today it was gone from all the theaters that was running it. They were showing movies I had no interest in, so I bought a couple other DVD's while I was out. Looks like I'll have to wait until it comes out on DVD.

I saw this movie the first weekend it came out, after reading a review on Plugged In. I enjoyed the movie; haven't read the book, but one of my friends who went with me said it was probably closest to the story of the book than any other movie she had ever seen.

One of our church friends bought the DVD and we have watched it twice. While it is a fictional work, the message comes through loud and clear! It is not something that is far fetched or unrealistic either as the Celtic people had many superstitions and strange traditions that they brought to America. I would highly recommend it to anyone it is great family viewing. A few scenes might be a little bit scarey for younger children (<5-YO) so, be sure and allow plenty of time discussion time after the movie and maybe with a light snack afterward to talk to them about the characters. They will absorb the story much better as well. Parts of it just about tore my heart out as it reminded me of similar experiences I had as a child. Great work though with many good lessons children can absorb and learn from as well. Sarge

I thought it was kinda weird at first, but in the end I liked it very much. Four out of Five popcorn boxes for the Last Sin Eater.

I really enjoyed it. I'd like to read the book--I've heard it's even better. I like Francine Rivers' books.

The movie is good--very good--but the book is even better. There are some key sub-plots that are left out of the movie that are brought together in the book's ending. I thought the climactic scene in the book was more dramatic, especially the gunpowder part. (I won't go into it so as to not spoil the book for any of you.)
