On Yahoo entertainment news, William Peterson has announced that he is leaving CSI at the end of the 2008 - 2009 season. I believe that this show can go on without him, just like Law and Order. What do you all think?

Yes the show can go on without him, he had left temporarily a few seasons ago. Plus it has been rumored for a while that he wants off the show. I believe he'll still be producer though. He may have written some of the episodes too.

It all depends on who replaces him. They will have to replace Warrick as well, and they have yet to replace Sara (who is rumored to be returning this fall). That is a lot of main characters to replace so they will be like starting over.

Yes the show can survive. But I will mis him. And the prson who takes his place must not try and be like Grissom (sp?). It woul be better if they went in a different direction.

Perhaps they will do the unthinkable: (for US television that is) join the rest of the world and cast another actor into that same role.

Naaaaahhhhh!

I don't believe the show will survive for long without Grissom. There's no other cast member able to carry the load.

Catherine's had so much plastic surgery that she might split open any minute. Don't make her smile!

I cannot tolerate Caruso. He's so into himself that he's his own fan club!

Actually, Grissom will be leaving the show mid-way through next season. Peterson will remain as an executive producer, though.

Maybe they will move in Gary Sinese from CSI-NY???? Peterson is exec producer on all 3 shows.

No, wait! I've got it!

Willows wakes up from having passed out when Keppler died and finds her Bobby Ewing moment and realizes the last 2 seasons have all been a dream and Keppler didn't really die......

Then Keppler gets cleared somehow and takes over for Grissom who is then going back to teach at University.

Only in the movies (or TV).

Yikes! Dave, that's quite a scenario, there.

I love Grissom and I will definitely be less likley to watch the show without the benefit of my handsome Peterson.

Caruso...yucky.

Senise....good.

He was the reason I started watching the show when it first came out. I've been a fan since watching Cousins years ago (although he played a jerk in tha movie).

I won't be watching the show after that. He is the reason I watch the show. Maybe it is time to just hang up the cards.

I don't watch the other CSI, because I don't like the actors on the other shows. Especially David Cauruso.

Warrick, and now Grissom. I'll have to see if I can get used to these changes (...at least Grissom could come back ).

Well, it is possible that Warrick may be back - if the writers let him survive being shot by the under-sherrif.

He pled guilty to 3 counts of felony drug possession (the heroin charges apparently were dropped) for coke and perscription pain killers. His sentance was to attend some kind of drug rehab class.

It would be just too ridiculous for Warrick to have survived those point blank shots. But losing Sara (which wasn't a huge deal), and Warrick (which IS a huge deal), and now Grissom, I don't know. I think that's just way too much change for me. Catherine is wearing on me. We got Nick and Brass and the guy who used to be in the lab - and a lot of the supporting people, lab people, are really a hoot still. I don't know, though.

Without Grissom, I think I will lose interest in the show. I like Nick and Catherine...I don't mind Sara being gone because I never liked her anyway. But without Warrick and Grissom, it would be tough.

I missed much of the last season - is Brass okay? Perhaps if Brass steps back into the role he originated as the head of CSI (season one), I will like it.

It would be so cool if Gary S. from CSI NY came on - I don't like anyone on CSI NY except him, so a melding of the two shows could work.

Dr. Tancredi is back this season on Prison Break despite having her head cut off and sent to Lincoln. So, Warrick coming back would not surprise me at all.

I don't think Warrick is coming back.

Since everyone is leaving the show, maybe it is time to lay it rest, and not drag it on and on like ER.

I have a feeling that Grissom's leaving has been coming for awhile. I was watching a repeat from a few seasons ago...It was the one were Grissiom was having hearing problems.

According to reports I've seen, CSI is in negotiations with Lawrence Fishburn. He will not be coming in to replace Grissom as the head of the lab, but instead he will be an outsider who is a DNA expert with the genetic profile of a serial killer.

That replacement would be regrettable, but then I have been praying for years they would take that Kanakaredes woman off the other CSI because she walks like she is wading up a creek.
