What are your opinions? Would God seek to kill anyone just as he was going to do Moses nowadays? Or would he even have to hence the second coming of Jesus?

4:24-26 - God was going to kill moses because Moses was supposed to teach the Israelites God's Law - yet Moses was not obeying God's Law himself.

Do you think God would do that someone during this life time?

Well, speaking for myself, if God had planned to kill me and then changed His mind i would be most grateful. i suppose there could have been many of us He studied on killing and then decided not to, all things being within the realm of possibility that is.

It would appear that God exercises the right to give life as well as take it away in both Testaments. See Acts 5:1-11; 1 Corinthians 11:29-32.

I would add this caveat: It also appears that these incidents are extraordinary events and certainly not normative.

He killed Ananias and Saphira.

God did what was appropriate and sufficient enough for him to put Moses into his code. Obviously Moses was out of line when he hadn't had is own son circumsised.

Why should I listen to my father who's a smoker lecture me about the wrongs of smoking!? Would you listen to a gay pastor lecture you on the rights and wrongs of the bible? There would of been hypocrisy in the Lords work so the Lord did what he needed to to accomplish what he wanted done. Obviously the known 'words' that related to the covenant of Abraham hadn't worked.

If the Lord wants you to do something for him he always comes to you in a way that is appropriate and sufficient enough to achieve what he needs from you or wants you to do.
