Theories about the earth being flat really came to the fore in 19th Century England. With the rise and rise of scientific rationalism, which seemed to undermine Biblical authority, some Christian thinkers decided to launch an attack on established science.

It is no stranger than the Dark Sucker Theory that debunks the myth that "light" is some kind of magical substance (and that darkness is the absence of light).

The basic theory is HERE.

The reality is in our diverse world, there are always going to be some small segment of people who believe odd things - that the universe appeared out of nothing, that we are all part of a giant computer simulation, that we a facing a catastrophic climate disaster cause by humans. Just because these ideas have adherents tells us nothing about the validity of other beliefs - each belief has to stand or fall on it's own merits.

Personally, I believe the earth is really the shape of a donut, or halo (too much Xbox perhaps?), with the sun in the center. I have yet to explain how we have nights, but I'll find some explanation sooner or later!

Thats easy. The speed of light from the sun simply slows down every 24 hours. Its not constant after all, like the establishment would have us believe.

The torroidal earth actually functions as a rotating tube w/ its ends connected. Think of the toroid being made out of rubber and fitting snuggly onto a pipe, then roll the torus down the pipe. That's how you get nighttime.

Or perhaps the sun acts as sort of a flashlight running out of battery strength every 24 hours, but somehow recharges as the new day approaches? Just a theory...

I looked, and they don't have one. But, Talk.Origins.org specializes in teaching whacked out theories like this as fact to its community. Perhaps you should check it out! If you have a sense of humor, you might even chuckle!
