Cranberry juice and onion soup mix. Is that what you use for most roasts or just for the particular type that you made last night?

Just the roast I made yesterday. I wasn't sure what to do with it and looked through the stuff that came up on Google. Actually it was suggested by a lot of people to be cooked with red wine, but I didn't have any (never even tried red wine), so I substituted cranberry juice.

I survived the dentist.

My appointment was for 11:10. I set my alarm for 10:15, woke up, rolled over, and when I opened my eyes again it was 11:00. I threw on the first clothes I could grab and ran to the car. While in the car I combed my hair and sucked on a breath mint. I drove 5 MPH over the speed limit and got there four minutes late.

I had nitrous during the shots. It did not help as much as I thought it would, but it took the edge off my needle anxiety. One thing I don't like about shots besides the ouch is having a big cold metal object filling my mouth. I have a hard time not gagging even though the dentist says he is not hitting my gag reflex.

The fillings went fine. One of them was deeper than he thought. He said I should not be shocked if at some point in my life one of those teeth needs a root canal. All of the ones he did (four in all) were pretty deep though and all needed a pulp cap.

After the dentist I was going to go get my hair cut, but I was having a hard time holding my mouth closed and thought that might be kind of awkward for the hair cutting person. So instead I came home and grabbed a Netflix that needed to go in the mail, went to the post office, then went to Wal*Mart for more cat food, pudding, yogurt, and chips.

The numbing chemicals are starting to wear off and my teeth are feeling sore. He said it should not hurt after but I don't think that is the case.

I go back in two weeks for two more fillings... both on the top of my mouth.

drink cold water (take the swelling off) and take some ibuprofin. I find that works best after I've had a rough day at the dentist.

GRRR!!!!!!!!!

So I had a "Spending Plan" that I made in excel. I had it on a computer, then transferred it to my USB drive so that I could take it with me to different computers. My USB drive has since disappeared and I don't have any copies of the spending plan anywhere. On that drive was other spreadsheets for balancing my checkbook and such. Not that big of a deal because I use googledocs to do that now, but I'd like the originial format if I could have it.

Now i need to update my spending plan to reflect my new rent, utilities, raise, etc. and I dno't have an electronic version. I'm so annoyed.

Thanks, Maggie.

Christine, I took your suggestion about taking some Advil. My teeth don't really hurt any more, but the injection site is quite tender.
And sorry you lost your spreadsheet.

I am really liking this person's hair. The cut is really cute and even the coloring is cool. I wonder how I would look in redish brown and blonde hair? My only hang up about trying it is that I wouldn't want to keep paying for the upkeep. Too bad I couldn't have my hair professionally dyed like that and then just have it slowly fade back to normal.

Saturday I am going to a baby shower that is three hours away. I was hoping to car pool with two other people I know who were invited and live locally, but unfortunately neither of them can go. :( So that means now I have to drive myself and pay for all the gas myself. I am still going to go though because 1. I already got the day off work and 2. I rarely get invited to anything and it makes me feel good that someone invited me to something. The hostess offered to let me stay the night so I don't have to spend six hours driving in one day, so I am going to do that. Hopefully it will be fun. She is having a girl and I am looking forward to buying something small and pink.

That cut is very cute Cath. And what a long drive you have for that baby shower!

Dentist. Yeah, still gotta go.

Wow, the back of my mouth hurts soooo much. And when I yawned the injection site hurting flared up even more than the regular hurting. This makes me not want to go back and do this again in two weeks.
I felt similar about going back after my first set of fillings. A week later I bit down on some Rocky Road ice cream and about fell over from the shock of pain that occured. My teeth were soooooo sensitive to the cold... it was awful. I thought about it and decided I didn't want to ruin my whole mouth, so I cancelled my next appointment. Then I rescheduled and then cancelled again. It took me a long time to get over thinking that getting fillings was one of the worst things I ever did.
The thing that stinks is that I can't give myself a long time to get over Wednesday's events. I know I need to do get the rest of my fillings done now because I don't plan on working at the call center more than a few more months, so I need to do this while I have their insurance and only have to pay a small portion for this work.

If it still hurts after a couple days, go see your dentist. You shouldnt' be in pain for too long. All you had done was a regular filling, not a crown or in-lay or root canal or anything fancy.

Maggie rescued me!!!!! YAY!!! I knew there was a reason I was friends will y'all on CW! I had shared with her a copy of my spreadsheet when I first created it and she still had the email. I'm so relieved!

That hair cut is VERY cute Catherine. if you can't afford the highlights, then just get the cut. I think it would look very good on you.

Drive safely on Saturday Catherine. I'm glad you were invited too. Those little invites go a long way in lonely heads.

I once drove 4 hours for a bridal shower, then back over the pass and had to buy chains. It was worth every minute to be there that day!

It isn't really my teeth that hurt. It is mostly in the back where my mouth opens and closes. They had the bite guard in for a long time and I couldn't close my mouth at all.

Yah, I think I will get the cut. I think it is interesting that a few years ago I wouldn't have even considered chopping my hair that short. Now I don't really care how short my hair is. I have discovered that really short hair is much better than really long hair. The day we spent in Texas I was wishing for less hair than I had.

I "forgot" about you driving four hours for my bridal shower. Guess I will not set the CW record for most hours driven for a shower.

Well, I went and got my hair cut all short like the red haired picture. It looks pretty good. I didn't get any highlights, though I think some would be nice. The guy who cut my hair today did it all with a razor and didn't even get out the scissors. I like how he made the layers go up higher on my head than they have been in the past.

Still haven't bought a baby shower gift. I wanted to go shopping after my haircut, but I didn't have enough time. I asked if I could take an hour lunch, but there were too many calls at the time (it has since died). I went to Kohls for a few minutes on my regular half hour lunch, and didn't see anything that grabbed me. So I guess I will go to Super Wal*Mart after work and find something there. I wish more store were open 24/7.

Here is my new haircut

Both sides looked equally good, but then the one side got a bit squished when I laid on it.

Looks good Catherine. Brave Woman!!!

It's similar to the haircut I got a few years ago. It takes a lot of maintenance and the right stylist. I tried to have a different person restyle it for me and she totally messed it up. I was annoyed. Keep going back to teh same guy. He knows what he's doing!!!

Good morning all. happy Saturday.

I doubt my hair will be that flipped out any other day besides yesterday. I rarely do more to my hair than brush it.

I hate looking at pics of myself lately. I need a diet.

Gotta leave soon for my long three hour drive.

Cath --- Get a round brush. if you blow dry your hair, blow it dry with a round brush. If you don't blow it dry, get a light gel. After you get out of the shower, dont' brush it but put some gel in it and let it be wild. You can use a pick if you want to get it in the right places.

Thanks Sharon. I have 3 or 4 of them that I made that are really cute. This one is my favorite.

Hi Catherine. Can't see your pics as the computer is having problems doing that. I can imagine you look great with your new haircut though.

Well, I made it to the baby shower. Ugh, that drive is no fun. 3.25 hours of going down an almost straight road with nothing to look at. I got out of the car and walked around and I felt like I was sleep walking. Finally I figured out that freezing myself with the A/C was about the only thing that kept my brain awake. Freezing is no fun though.

The shower was alright. I am so bad at shower games. I didn't win anything... or even get that close to winning. The mom-to-be got a TON of stuff, and they are not sure where to put it all.

After the shower was over some of us went out to eat and we ended up going to a Mexican place. It was pretty good.

We went back to their house and watched "The Breakup" with Jennifer Aniston. I fell asleep near the end but the movie wasn't that good anyway. It reminds me of te movie "What Happens in Vegas" that I saw a few weeks ago.

I spent the night outside in one of their campers. The only bad part was that several mosqitos got in - yuck. One of the few good things about Reno is we have no skeetos and no fleas.

Got up this morning and took a shower, got some fruit from their fridge to eat on the road, filled up the gas tank, and then I got to do the lovely 3.25 hour drive again.
I didn't bring anything with me to put in my hair and it still looks pretty good! This guy did a great job cutting it so it looks good on its own even without stuff.

And now I am at work and it is so not busy today. I went from 4:11 to 4:41 without a call. Ugh.

Tonight after work I have to give Matt a haircut. I am trying to convince him to ditch the same dorky hair cut he has had his entire life and try something new. So far the answer is not unless I agree to go shooting if he doesn't like it. I think not. I don't even looking at Matt's gun posters, much less holding one myself. The only time I touch his guns is to move them out of my way.

I wish I understood why a guy will hang onto one style even if it's unattractive. Makes no sense.

Hi Catherine, Trish and Kath

When I read about your travels Catherine, it reminded me of me when I was in my early twenties and heading out to places on my own like that and doing stuff like driving to Racine after work to have birthday meal for Angie when she was a little girl, and then driving back home that same night and getting up for work the next day at 5am... those were the days.

On the haircut... Do you have a pic of him that you could sort of work up other hair styles to show him how it might look?
