On the haircut... Do you have a pic of him that you could sort of work up other hair styles to show him how it might look?

I do not know how to work Photo Shop or the other programs that do that sort of thing.

I tried looking up pics online, but Matt's answer to the ones I showed him was that "their hair has stuff in it" or "that looks longer than you told me you would cut it" or "I hope that is not what you were thinking of" and so on.

Work... ugh.

Matt let me give him a real haircut!!

I took pictures, but he said I am not allowed to post them because he was looking stupid on purpose. Maybe tomorow I can take ones I am allowed to post.

Ah, so nice to see him without a bowl haircut. I told him professionals with high paying jobs are not supposed to have long hair. He said, "What about Fabio?" I said, "Fabio is a model, not a computer technician."

The IT guys at my work have long hair. They're brothers and purposely dress alike sometimes. Ahh .... to be a dork and love it!

My cousin is going to cut my hair this weekend.
Oh ... I'm going to Michigan this weekend to see my family. My cousin is a hair stylist (don't remember the 'real' term) and she said she'd do my hair this weekend. She's a hip, young thing, so I'm sure she'll do something totally trendy with my hair that I'll never be able to duplicate. But it'll be fun and a chance for us to bond.

I haven't spent any real time with my family in YEARS!!!! I was there 7 years ago, but didn't really feel like I fit in or anything. I'm really looking forward to this weekend.

I wish I understood why a guy will hang onto one style even if it's unattractive. Makes no sense.

HEY!

I resemble that remark!

Okay, Lynn is trying to get me to grow my hair (what little is left) out longer. Any one seen that crab boat captain Sig on Deadliest Catch? He has about the same hairline as me, and she said that what he has would be acceptable.

Here's his photo.

Christine, have fun with your family.

Catherine, what did Matt think of his haircut in the end?

Larry's hair looks like that too. I guess I didn't consider that "long". Do you keep it pretty short now?

Catherine I'm glad for you that Matt let you cut it.

Is it short now? Well, since it is dry as soon as it's wet, I guess you could say it is short.

Catherine, what did Matt think of his haircut in the end?

I don't know... he said he will tell me in a week. He thinks is hair is spikey, and his hair is not what I would call spikey. To me spikey is when someone puts gel in it and makes it stand up on purpose. His hair is just hair in my opinion.

Ben, I don't think that captain guy's haircut is bad if you can pull it off.

Hope you have a nice trip, Christine.

It's finally Friday!! Just one more day of work I have to make it through and then I have two days off!

Hi all!

Got an update today on my landlord today

His daughter sent out an invite to the memorial service in a few weeks. So contact has been made. I replied and gave my condolences and thanked her for the invite. Then said whenever she was ready to talk business to call or email me.

So ..... I feel much better about the situation now.

John recently started to gel his hair back. He's received many compliments on it. He looks very studios. I am sure Matt just needs time to get used to any new cut Cath.

Men have a hard time with change, even something simple like hair.

They don't like anything different. They know what they like and want to keep it that way.

Well, I am hoping Matt will grow to like this hair and want to keep it that way. Plus it is much easier to cut. I am not good at cutting lots of hair in a straight line. Whenever I cut my own bangs it takes several days before I am happy with the results because as my hair shifts around it looks uneven.

I think today at work was the record for prank callers in one day. I got sooooooooo many. One prank caller kept calling back and I got them three times in less than ten minutes.

The new laptop we bought in May is currently non-operational. :( When I got home from work my homepage loaded just fine, then I went to forums and the computer started being weird and taking several seconds to respond to me moving the mouse. I did a hard shutdown because I was tired of fighting with the lagging mouse. During the restart it would not get off the page where with the window loading. I did a hard shut down again and got some message telling me the computer could not complete start up and it needed to scan for errors. I went through this twice and it does not know how to fix itself. :( Hopefully Matt will be able to fix it tomorrow.

Three hours til I leave to take the kittens back. I will miss these guys, and tomorrow will probably be sad since I won't have any kittens left to come home to.
In some ways I am glad to get rid of Moe. In my mind I call him "attack cat." Every time I pick him up he is so eager to bite and scratch me (I think it is his way of playing). Moe is such a cute cat though, and I enjoyed watching his antics.
Blackie is a sweet cat. She was only tried to attack me when I trimmed her nails. She was always ready with a purrrrr whenever she got near me.

Here is a not good thing though: Today one of the cats (I don't remember which one now) managed to do something to my arm that is not good. The part where the nail went in is raised and all around it is a one inch red circle. I am hoping this will go away and not need medical attention. None of my other cat injuries have looked like this.

sterilize a needle or safety pin and open it a bit, squeeze it and then scrub the dickens out of it with soap and water. Apply antibiotic ointment and a bandaid.

If the redness spreads or does not get better in next day or so you need a doc for antibiotics. Cat scratch fever is NOT fun. Been there, done that and still have a scar.

Thanks for the advice, Brandy. The redness has gone down some by itself overnight. I was going to ask the Humane Society clinic people about my arm when I went in, but I forgot.

Matt fixed the laptop. He says it was better when he ejected the card reader. Gurrr to the card reader. It loves to give error messages.

Christine, I'm glad things are working out with the landlord's daughter.

Catherine, I was wondering if you got ringworm from the cat.

Well, poking at the bump I have did not produce any puss, just blood. Maybe I didn't do it right? I have a hard time doing such things to myself.

Catherine, if you don't see infection and the redness is not spreading, just keep it clean and use antibiotic cream or something on it. Personally, I always used hydrogen peroxide to clean it. I have had a few encounters over the years that seemed to take a longer time to heal. My right arm looks kinda funky now that the scars look a little whitish.

I have yet to buy a bottle of hydrogen peroxide since becoming an adult, but my grandma alwasy had some. I thought about getting some when I first got these kittens and got all scratched up, but never got around to it.

Yeah, I always have it here. And it's ridiculously CHEAP!! I think I got some awhile back at a Walgreens sale 2 for a buck. And HP can be good at so many things.

You can even use it as mouthwash.

Cat bites can get nasty too if there is lots of bacteria. But you did a great job fostering them Cath! Regarding Matt's old haircut, here we have a name for it. It's called the rice bowl cut cause it's like putting a big rice bowl over your head and just cutting around it. lol

while hydrogen peroxide is really good at killing bacteria, part of it's activity also kills new growth. So if you do get some, don't use it after you kill the infection, it will prevent the skin from growing back. Use water, isopropyl alcohol, and some neosporin.

I don't use peroxide anymore unless I'm trying to decide if something is already infected.

I'm not as liberal with it anymore either but the bigger concern is if the wound is deep or a big puncture. For those reasons you listed Christine.
