Below is a song that I wrote in 1980 and recorded in 1999. It is truly the theme song for my life. You can learn more at www.gettingtoknowjesus.org.

What Jesus Means To Me

By Glen M. Copple
April 6, 1980

I’ve got to tell somebody that Jesus died upon Calvary’s tree.
I’ve got to tell somebody that Jesus rose again for you and me.
I’ve got to tell somebody that Jesus is alive, we’ve been set free
I’ve got to tell somebody what Jesus did and what it means to me.

Jesus came to give His life to pay for all my sin.
He died upon Calvary’s tree a victory to win.
But death could not contain Him, He rose again to say—
That we could live forever if we’d let him in today.

That Jesus is alive today gives proof of His victory.
That He rose from death and conquered sin proves He set us free.
I know He’s coming back someday, to take us to be with Him.
Make Him your Lord, obey His will and leave this world of sin.

The life I live upon this earth, I’ll live it for my Lord.
I give all of my life and strength to telling of His word.
And I shall live forever, close by my Savior’s side.
He’ll give me all I ever need. In His love I’ll abide.

Wow, that is awesome! Your website looks wonderful, also! It is thrilling to me to see someone still on fire for the Lord and centered on the Lord Jesus Christ, especially a pastor!

I look foward to digging into your website more.

My Dear Friend

~There is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother~

My Jesus, I would like to share, with any that would read, what You mean to me. I could never exhaust the words to share how very special to me You have become!

Always faithful to me, You have been. You have never rejected or disowned me even when You felt rebuffed by me. When my heart has wandered from You, You bore the pain of rejection and continued to pursue me with Your love and acceptance. When my devotion to You slackened and became less pure, yet Your passionate love towards me continued to burn.

My dear Friend, You have never betrayed me. While my dearest human friend betrayed me, You enclosed me in Your love and whispered to my heart "I am with thee". Knowing rejection all of my life by all human ties, yet You remained with me whispering to me and caressing me with Your soft touches of endearment. You know the deep agony of heart that comes from being betrayed. You allowed yourself to experience that pain so that you might know how to bring comfort to my oft broken heart.

When veils have come between us, because of sin in my life, You showed me how I might gaze upon Your beautiful Face again. You have never tried to get back at me because I sinned against you; oh, my dear Friend, there is no malice in Thee.

You have carried me through the deepest waters and pushed the waters back from my frightened heart. The floodwaters would have drowned me unless You had rescued me. Your right hand has raised me back up, more times than I can share. With a word saying ~peace be still~ You quiet the raging storms in my heart.

You teach me the way to go to find healing and hope. Gently whispering to me ~this is the way~ You bring soothing balm to my grieving heart; You lift me back up and bestow on me precious kindness. I could never live without Your kindness, my dear Friend! Without Your kindness, I would shrivel up and die. While others abuse me, causing my heart to break, yet, You tell me I am Your joy ~ You died for love of me.

I carry You in my heart all of the day. You are there to greet me with a whisper of love in the morning and You are by my side all of the day…. encouraging, comforting, whispering words of love to me. Lifting me up into the light of Your love, when all else would press me down, you set me free once more to soar with You above the clouds, upwards to gaze upon Your face from now and throughout eternity. I love You, my dear Friend. I love You so very much…

When We Need Defending

~Thy sins are forgiven ~

There are numerous ways that God endears Himself to His people. But, perhaps, one of the most precious is He defends those who put their trust in Him. While others may criticize, judge and expose the sins of God’s children, God’s love “covereth a multitude of sins.” He shields, defends and protects His own. He does not expose our sins.

What a refuge for the struggling sinner our dear Lord is! How He wants us to flee to Him when we are tormented with sin, guilt and shame! We want to run away from Him when we fall to sin. Yet He pursues us as He looks upon us with eyes of longing Love.

God’s protective love for sinners is revealed in the story of Jesus’ encounter with “a woman who was a sinner.” Apparently, this was how she was known in the city where she resided. Imagine the shame and guilt she must have experienced! She was in so much emotional pain knowing that people were aware of her lifestyle.

Hearing the stories of Jesus and how He reached out with love to the outcasts, brought hope to her. She heard that He ministered to the unclean, the tormented and the sinners.

Yearning for acceptance, she did the only thing that she felt worthy to do for Him. As she washed His feet with her tears she could not help but kiss them. For she knew those precious, wearied feet had brought Him close to her. She sensed that Jesus was going to show her the acceptance and understanding for which she longed.

He did. While the Pharisee became critical towards the woman and her actions, Jesus defended her. What contrast between the proud Pharisee with his critical spirit and the tender, accepting and gracious love of the gentle Jesus.

“Thy faith hath saved thee; go in peace” came the words that she yearned to hear. With these words He was telling her that He accepted her. Even though others might criticize her, He would protect and defend her. She had become His.

~ Yea the Almighty shall be thy defense ~

Betrayed!

~Jesus said unto him, Judas, betrayest thou the Son of man with a kiss? ~
Luke 22:48

It is believed by some Biblical Scholars that Jesus and Judas, one of the original twelve apostles, were quite close during the ministry of Jesus on earth. They believe this verse in the psalms speaks of Jesus and Judas, ~Yea, mine own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, which did eat of my bread, hath lifted up his heel against me~. Even when Judas brought the soldiers to the garden so that they could arrest Jesus, Jesus called Judas “friend”.

Let us look at some verses showing how Jesus called Judas “friend” up until the time He was betrayed ~ Rise, let us be going: behold, he is at hand that doth betray me. And while he yet spake, lo, Judas, one of the twelve, came, and with him a great multitude with swords and staves, from the chief priests and elders of the people. Now he that betrayed him gave them a sign, saying Whomsoever I shall kiss, that same is he: hold him fast. And forthwith he came to Jesus, and said, Hail, master; and kissed him. And Jesus said unto him, Friend, wherefore art thou come? Then came they, and laid hands on Jesus, and took him~ (Matthew 26: 46-50) Dr. C.I. Scofield says of these verses “They are, perhaps, the most touching thing in the Bible. The Lord does not disown Judas.”

Right after Judas kissed Jesus in the garden, the soldiers captured Jesus and then began the most brutal and dark scene of history this world will ever know – the torture and crucifixion of God’s Son, the Lord Jesus Christ.

Is there any emotional agony greater than the pain of being betrayed by a close friend, a parent, a spouse? The pain of betrayal can shatter the most courageous of hearts. To share close, intimate friendship or marriage, to put one’s trust in a parent, a marriage partner a close friend and then to have the one who we have trusted callously and cruelly not only break that trust but turn on oneself can send one reeling in unimagined hurt.

Perhaps there is one reading this that has endured or is enduring the pain of betrayal. Have you shared with that parent, friend or spouse your deepest secrets? Have you enjoyed a close, intimate relationship with another only to have that other share your deepest things with others? Has someone you loved and trusted turned on you and become your enemy?

Jesus knows the grief of heart we carry, dear soul. Oh, He has been there. He gave His all to Judas, especially His friendship only to have Judas betray Him to be murdered for thirty pieces of silver. Jesus longs for us to come to Him and share our deepest hurts with Him. He longs to bring us the comfort we need! He endured His betrayal so that He would know how best to comfort us.

I carried to Him, on the wings of prayer, the pain of my betrayal this morning. He listened, He comforted me and then He reminded me that He knows, only too well the same pain. Is my pain now gone? No. But just to know He knows, He understands and that He will carry me through while the pain eases is enough for me to rest my heart on.

Greatness, His Gentleness
~Thy Gentleness hath made me great~

How can this be? In a generation which increasingly sees greatness through sports figures, movie stars, military power and even force, the Lord pierces our hearts with an entirely different concept; His gentleness makes us great.

King David, penning these words, knew the Lord in intimacy which most of us will never attain to in this life. How beautiful God was to the Psalmist! How beautiful God desires to become to us.

It is a worthy pursuit, the pursuit of God and His ways with us. How our breath is almost taken away when we see Him in His condescension towards us. He stoops and bends to us from His lofty Throne to reveal to us a God that, although He is Mighty and All-powerful, yet...He is gentle towards His own.

Our Creator, our Saviour our Strength, the One who has all might, power and Who Created all, is also gentle! Who can fathom it? This One Who will someday create a new Heaven and Earth is the gentle One.

I live in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range. Whenever I drive up to Lake Tahoe I am totally amazed at the grandeur and majesty of those mountains. What power, how awesome! One cannot begin to imagine the greatness behind a God who with one wave of an outstretched arm said about those mountains…"Let there be". And the mountains were brought forth at the word of His command.

And yet, the same One who created those mountains with just a breath condescends in gentleness to me... I bow, I worship….

God’s Poverty

~For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich~
2 Corinthians 8:9

He had all things and through Him all was created. Never was one more wealthy then He; all that the Father has was His. He is the adoration of the angels; so holy and beautiful is His face that they must veil themselves as they pass by Him. The cattle on a thousand hills are His and all things are created for Him. He is the center of the Christian’ worship and forever we will bow in adoration at His beautiful nail-pierced feet as we cast our crowns before the Lamb Who was slain from before the foundation of the world.

And yet He came to this world unnoticed except by His parents, the wise men and a few dirty shepherds. He bed was a feeding trough. He grew up in humble circumstances, submitting to His parents and they tell me He was a carpenter.

As He began His public ministry, He had no place to call His home in this dark world. He had to depend on the hospitality of others for meals. He had no pillow to lay His weary head at night. Perhaps the rocks were His pillow where His regal head rested. He had no money; the women who followed Him ministered to Him out of their substance. The little money that He and his rag-tag fishermen followers had was stolen sometimes by His so-called friend; His betrayer to be, Judas.

He had no transportation except when He rode on a borrowed colt of a donkey into Jerusalem to weep over His beloved city. His last meal on earth was spent in a borrowed upper room where He spoke lovingly and tenderly to His bewildered disciples and then prayed His great prayer to His Father.

The last few hours of His life the friends who had provided homes and food for Him were taken away as He faced His accusers and torturers alone. His robe was stripped from Him; a robe of scarlet was mockingly put upon Him, scarlet representing royalty. A crown of thorns was shoved on His head, a reed placed in His hand as they cruelly made fun of Him and then beat him on the head with the reed.

The scarlet robe was taken off Him; His own robe placed back on Him, the cross was placed on Him as He traveled up the hill, Calvary. He wore the crown of thorns. As they crucified Him, they took off His garments, and parted them amongst themselves. And then they stripped from Him the only thing left that He could call His own…they took His robe.

Imprisoned!
Captured by His love

I would like to think I am a total prisoner of the Love of Christ. However, in reality I don't believe I am quite there, as of now.

The Apostle Paul. He was a total prisoner of the Love of Christ. With hatred for Jesus and this new "sect" in his murderous heart, he set out destroy them. But then the great encounter occurred as a radiant blaze of LIGHT knocked him to the ground to be forever a prisoner of LOVE - one of the greatest love stories ever told. ~For to me to live is Christ~ he would boldly proclaim to the world.

Someday... I hope to be a complete prisoner, gladly enclosed forever in by the bands of His wondrous love. Every time I get angry with God in confusion and pain He waits...knowing that my oft-stubborn heart will eventually ask the question again ~ Lord, to whom shall I go? Thou hast the words of eternal life~ gladly, captured and irresistibly drawn in again by His passionate love for me.

There was a tiny, wild bird that flew into my house one day. It began to desperately fling its little body against the walls of my home, captured in a place it did not want to be. The tiny little creation of God could not have known it was imprisoned within the walls of a home of someone who cries over the suffering of God's creation. I managed to somehow capture it and take it to the vet for healing. When I called regarding its condition the following day it had been set free.

He will let us go free, if we choose. But when we instead decide to become a prisoner of the Love of Christ that is when our true freedom begins.

Before His Feet Were Pierced

~How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth!

~Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing!

How tiny His holy feet were when He was born. He came from Heaven where He is adored down to this dark world. Emmanuel, God with us is Jesus.

Born King of the Jews, yet He humbled Himself to take on the form of man, born in a feeding trough.

As we think of those precious feet of Jesus we see them first carrying Him coming from Egypt back to Nazareth, drawn by God the Father to fulfill His mission of love.

Embarking on His public ministry, those blessed feet brought Him to John the Baptist. In awe and adoration, the humble John cries “Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world”! Oh, behold Him, for there is no spot in Him! Perfectly holy and harmless is He! Guided by His Heavenly Father, those feet carried Him north to the Sea of Galilee where He would reach out the most during His three and one half years of being in public.

Those feet carried Him through dusty Palestine, up into the hills, down to the sea, out into the wilderness bringing His message of perfect love to sinners, the outcasts, the sick and the dying. Those feet carried Him to a tomb to raise the dead. Those feet carried Him to teach the message of God’s perfect love and hope for the desperate, to set the captive free and to promise everlasting life to those who would receive Him. Those feet walked on water.

It was a woman who recognized the value of the holy feet of Jesus. Adoring His beautiful Character, she must express her adoration in any way that she could. Breaking the perfume over His beautiful feet, she washed them with her tears and dried them with her hair.

Oh, the fragrance of that one act to our beautiful Saviour! How it gave Him the courage to continue on to fulfill the last part of His earthly mission.

As we travel with Him during those final hours we see those feet carry Him to the Garden of Gethsemane where His struggle was so fierce. No mortal man can understand the agony He went through in that Garden! He went through the struggle for you, dear reader; He went through the struggle for me.

As His earthly life comes to a close, His feet carried Him up the bloodstained path to Calvary. That path was covered with our precious Jesus’ blood. We follow the Lamb of God up the hill Golgotha. Finally, as He offers His perfect Soul as a ransom for our sins, we see the nail go through those beautiful feet.

Fixed in agony and bleeding, those precious feet were nailed to the cross until He died.

~They pierced My hands and My feet~

The Dove

~Behold, thou art fair, my love; behold, thou art fair; thou hast doves’ eyes~

Every spring, the consciousness of her gentle cooing begins to speak of the beauty of the season. After a long winter, her song begins shortly after the daffodils break through the earth, heralding the beginning of new life.

This year was no different. Her soft voice speaks to my heart as does the gentle Dove of God, the precious Holy Spirit. Once more, her cooing slowly penetrated into my consciousness as we began experiencing a glorious flower-scented spring.

One day, I noticed her voice quite near; in the walnut tree that shades my bedroom. Within a few more days I heard her fluttering, with song-like wings, across my deck. Back and forth she fluttered for days ~the dove~ appeared to experience ~no rest for her feet~.

And then…God spoke. He assured me that He had caused this reminder from His creation. He tenderly shared that, I had no rest in my heart. As the dove fluttered back and forth, the gentle Dove of God was fluttering over me; fretful at the sorrow in my heart…

The aching heart of one, whose soul has been broken, battered, bruised….

The dove stopped fluttering across my deck the other day. Once again, I only heard her gentle cooing.

And then…God spoke again….reassuring, comforting, holding me close to His breast. The fluttering of His precious Spirit will soon stop fluttering over my broken heart as His tender touch begins to bring His healing touch to me once more.

The Dove

Beauty from Ashes

It has been a year now since I first wrote about the dove. She has returned...her beautiful wings brought her back to my property and I often hear her gentle cooing once more in my Walnut Tree. I rarely see her. A timid bird, she is.

My heartbreak persists although some days I am free from it...my love of laughter is finding its way back into my life...a true gift from my God. He has been so good to me, this God, my Jesus. He has given me so much help from sources I would never have thought of. Every day I am reminded of His gentle, tender care.

I find purpose in my pain now. They tell me that those who suffer much are greatly favored. This is strange to my human way of thinking. I can truly say now that I have suffered the loss of all things...if I use my pain correctly, I will find something special from my God, of that, I can be certain. Would that it would be a deeper knowledge of Him and His love for me. Reveal Yourself to me, dear Lord. Reveal Yourself to me.

I long to use what I learn and what I have felt through it all to pour into other's lives whose hearts ache. Oh, there are so many out there! Where will I start?

I will start by giving all of who I am and what I have endured, back into His hands so that not only will He use it to bring beauty from ashes into my life but that it might also be used to help bring beauty into others, as well.

God’s Jeweled Details

~Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love; with loving-kindness have I drawn thee~

One can almost hear the collective sighs and yawns in the church sanctuary when a pastor begins teaching from the Gospel of Matthew. For that Gospel begins with the genealogy of Jesus and the list of names seems endless and tedious. How many times in my personal studies have I been tempted to scan down the list as quickly as possible!

God is a God of detail, however, and a wise pastor can find treasures within that list to enchant the most hardened sinner and shock the most saintly saint. For in the Lord’s genealogy we find a conniver, an adulteress, and a murderer. One might think that God would hide such details from inquiring minds but the Bible is a book of the Lord choosing some questionable characters to fulfill His purpose.

Throughout the Bible we can discover God’s beautiful ways of dealing with His people. Recently, I discovered something new. Although I have read these scriptures numerous times, until today some of God’s jeweled details were hidden from my hungry heart.

I was studying something different and while studying, a truth that I had never seen was unveiled before my adoring heart. For within the early church at Antioch was one ~ Manaen, which had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch ~ (Acts 13: 1).

Herod the tetrarch was the son of Herod the great who was king when Jesus was born. Both men were very cruel. Herod the great tried to kill the Baby Jesus and, in the process, mercilessly slaughtered all the 2 year old males in the region where he thought Jesus resided. His son had John the Baptist beheaded.

One can only imagine what type of comparison Manaen, made between Herod and the Lord Jesus Christ. To have grown up and seen the hate, callousness and cruelty of Herod and then to encounter the tender-mercies, love and kindness of the gentle Jesus? Oh, who can fathom it?

My dear reader. Some of you have been more acquainted with cruelty and unkindness than you have been with gentleness, love and tender-mercies. Every heart yearns to be loved unconditionally and to love in return. For many, that yearning is still a gaping hole in your heart, yet to be fulfilled. It was for me.

Is that you? Others may be a Christian but yet see God as a harsh and demanding God who is difficult to please. You may have an unhealthy fear of God. That was me for many years.

No matter where we are at, God still longs for us to come to Him and have Him bind up wounds and heal hurts that we may have carried for many years. Will we let Him?

Let us turn from the harshness and cruelty that we often encounter and come to the One Who still calls out ~ Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls~

Did Your Eyes Meet His?

~The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world~

Did your eyes meet His, John? A most honored ministry you had, to prepare the way of the Messiah. When He walked past you did His eyes pierce yours with burning love?

Did your eyes meet His? You ~knew Him not~ until you saw the Holy Spirit come down as a dove and rest upon Him. Did He look towards you as He knew you were aware that He was the One Who was prophesized to come? He has the eyes of a dove, harmless and innocent. Oh, such eyes had never been seen before!

. What were in those eyes? Did you see the compassion and tender mercies that He would display throughout His ministry? Did you see acceptance in those eyes as holiness blazed out from them? Did He pierce your heart as He gazed knowingly into your soul yet with the tenderness of a mother, yearning for you?

You told us to ~Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world~. As you gazed upon Him you saw the unresisting innocence of a lamb being taken to the slaughter. You saw Him slaughtered for the sins of every human being that ever lived. You pondered His shortened life that would be cut off by the cruelty of man as He hung upon that horrible cross. You saw Him and His perfect love for the Father and for us as He obediently walked up the hill…to Calvary.

You beheld Him, John, you beheld Him! What were in those eyes as they first met yours? How I wish you could share with us of the time you first gazed on Him. Of how your heart nearly burst with adoration as you saw the fulfillment of thousands of years of prophecy walk before you. As He came up out of the water, His eyes gazing towards our Father. As in the days to come you would watch Him and see the eyes of God, the longing of every human being.

We will see His eyes, someday, also, John. As we gaze in wonder and awe at the ~Lamb slain from the foundation of the world~ we will see those eyes with you. We will see the love, acceptance, joy and innocence. We will see Him with His eyes forever fixed upon us in love and holiness. Our eyes will meet His with your eyes as millions of the redeemed finally gaze upon our adorable Lord and I will not need to ask you then. For my questions will be answered as I see Who you saw on that day you first beheld Him.

Jesus is alive. His victory, love, peace and light are forever. The experience of His everlasting goodness to mankind is beyond words. His health and wealth to the world is inestimable. I have gone through other spiritual experiences, and there is none as true, pure and with power as my relationship with God the Father in Christ Jesus. Our realtionship in Christ Jesus is not a compromise with principalities. Our new and everlasting relationship in the refreshing life of Christ Jesus is LIGHT and LOVE to brighten the world. This promise is real and blessed, because God is Good in the name of Christ Jesus by sharing His fullness with us through the Holy Spirit.
The message of Christ Jesus through me to this forum and the world is that we must key in more into winning souls in all nations of the world now, with love and not to judge them. We should move to the next level by walking in the Spirit, through this means share the awesome power and beauty of God in us by directing souls to Christ. We must display His exellence in us to the world everyday and everywhere.

God has been a very intraegal part of my life for a long time. Without Him I may not have survived some of my experiences. In fact I have just completed a manuscript describing the amazing miracles God granted me.

I have had the misfortune of being divorced once and widowed twice before the age of forty-eight. My first husband was violently abusive. He made attempts on my life several times. Through God's direct intervention I manage to escape. God was there through those awful months that I literally ran for my life.

I have been granted several premonitions. These come in dreams so detailed it is like watching a movie. I have had several. None show world events, just pieces of my own future. These have foretold three marriages and several deaths.

In a vision Jesus told me that He would always love me regardless of how many times I failed as a Christian. All I needed to do was keep trying to live the precepts of the Christian faith. He also told me that I would walk through an inferno. These "flames" would not be a punishmet for my sins, but a part of the natural course of my life. I refused, terrified the pain would be too much to bear. He insisted I had no other choice.

In my vision I stepped down into the roiling pit of fire, expecting of a terrific blast of heat. Instead, I felt His hand grasp mine. He told me that as long as I held onto His hand (my faith) the flames would never burn me and He would be waiting on the other side.

From that moment on my life changed drastically. I may have endured tremendous sorrow, but I was never alone. He has guided me and comforted me, sometimes on a scale reminiscent of the "burning bush." Through these incidents God led me to my fourth husband (hand picked by Him) and a fairy tale wedding in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe, Africa.

I am still astonished at the intimate ways God is involved in my life. Everyday I thank Him for His compassioin and guidance. I cannot imagine life without faith.

Queenmcs, Yes, He is a "magnificant" Saviour!

I sense the LORD wants me to share what some people call the greatest hymn ever written. Since it is not copywrited I hope it is alright moderator... But first, a little background ...

Charles Wesley was preaching in the fields of the parish of Killyleagh, County Down, Ireland, when he was attacked by men who did not approve of his doctrines. He sought refuge in a house located on what was known as the Island Barn Farm. The farmer’s wife, Jane Lowrie Moore, told him to hide in the milkhouse, down in the garden. Soon the mob came and demanded the fugitive. She tried to quiet them by offering them refreshments. Going down to the milkhouse, she directed Mr. Wesley to get through the rear window and hide under the hedge, by which ran a little brook. In that hiding-place, with the cries of his pursuers all about him, he wrote this immortal hymn.

Jesus, Lover of my Soul

Jesus, lover of my soul, let me to Thy bosom fly,
While the nearer waters roll, while the tempest still is high.
Hide me, O my Savior, hide, till the storm of life is past;
Safe into the haven guide; O receive my soul at last.

Other refuge have I none, hangs my helpless soul on Thee;
Leave, ah! leave me not alone, still support and comfort me.
All my trust on Thee is stayed, all my help from Thee I bring;
Cover my defenseless head with the shadow of Thy wing.

Wilt Thou not regard my call? Wilt Thou not accept my prayer?
Lo! I sink, I faint, I fall—Lo! on Thee I cast my care;
Reach me out Thy gracious hand! While I of Thy strength receive,
Hoping against hope I stand, dying, and behold, I live.

Thou, O Christ, art all I want, more than all in Thee I find;
Raise the fallen, cheer the faint, heal the sick, and lead the blind.
Just and holy is Thy Name, I am all unrighteousness;
False and full of sin I am; Thou art full of truth and grace.

Plenteous grace with Thee is found, grace to cover all my sin;
Let the healing streams abound; make and keep me pure within.
Thou of life the fountain art, freely let me take of Thee;
Spring Thou up within my heart; rise to all eternity.

Charles Wesley, 1740

I so agree! I so long for souls to come to Him! But it is His longing love in and through me not really my love at all!

People need to know the real Jesus Christ and then they will be drawn to Him!

Lord, dear Lord, please make me like you so that others will only see You in me, not me....

Marie,

Thank you, so much for sharing! Perhaps those that go through great suffering and sorrow are best able to see Jesus in a way that others, who do not experience the same, are not.

I have believed, for a long time, that Jesus is seen the clearest through the eyes of need.........

Bless you! I am happy for your current marriage!

My Redeemer Crowns Me!

~Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies~

Such contrasts as can hardly be conceived by mortal man have we here in this psalm of King David.

He speaks of our great Kinsman-Redeemer, Who is the Lord Jesus Christ. He speaks of the transformation that takes place in the lives of those who were heading for destruction, but now have turned to God. They are now crowned with loving-kindness and tender mercies. The price for such goodness to occur in the lives of those who now belong to God was the brutal suffering, death and shedding of innocent blood of our Redeemer, our Jesus.

Our beloved Jesus lovingly drew us to Himself from lives that were headed for certain destruction. Our eyes were blinded to the destruction that we were headed towards. Without Jesus buying us back we would continue to destroy ourselves or those around us. Oh, Lord, open our eyes to show us the terrifying end to a life apart from You! For a life apart from God is nothing less than hopelessness and desolation.

But there is One who will not allow our lives to be destroyed when we allow Him access into our lives. And what does this lovely Redeemer do for the one whose life is brought into union with God?

He lays upon our sorrowful heads crowns. He crowns us with His own loving-kindness and tender mercies. His crown of loving-kindness replaces our crown of thorns of shame, fear and disgrace. His crown of acceptance replaces our crown of guilt, despair and hopelessness. He replaces crowns of hurt and rejection with crowns of pity and adoration.

And what of His crown of tender mercies? We go from experiencing harshness, meanness, insensitivity to be crowned with tender mercy. This speaks of the utmost of warmth, protection, and being enclosed in a surrounding of complete safety. For the word here and elsewhere in the Old Testament comes from the Hebrew word which means compassion, tender love, great, tender mercy and pity, as cherishing the fetus in the womb.

To come from a life of desolation to a life of such tenderness, pity and love is almost beyond fathoming! To come into the warmth of such protecting, hovering, covering love is almost too much to conceive!

~Bless the Lord, oh my soul
And all that is within me bless His holy Name~

My Redeemer Jesus has replaced my crowns and...

~ I know that my Redeemer liveth, and that He shall stand at the latter day upon the earth, Whom I shall see for myself, and my eyes shall behold~ The One Who has crowned me so…

cherished...
