Hi, OneOfHisJewels,

If you're ever going to be in the Boston area let us know because you sound like such an interesting and delightful person. Actually, I'd love to meet your whole family.

Although it isn't very likely, if Deb and I ever did get to move to California (which is where she is from) maybe we could all get together there. I strongly suspect you and Deb would become very good friends. Well, now that I think of it, thanks to this Forum, I gather the two of you are already becoming good friends.

Since your Dad is a pastor your family isn't likely to have an abundant income, but it sounds like as a family you have wealth that surpasses the financial kind.

Thanks so much for coming to my wife's thread and making such good contributions to it.

Since I married Deb I've seen a lot more romantic movies and have grown to enjoy most of them quite a bit. Miss Potter and Ever After are two of our favorites that we both enjoy.

Deb can operate her chair with her hand most of the time, but if the hand/arm doesn't coorperate she usually still manages to nudge the joystick in the direction she want to go. Or, if I'm handy, I glady take over. We husbands like to do the driving.

Aren't husbands supposed to do that? It's like... a law somewhere.

With my first boyfriend, it did go a little farther, I'm sorry to say. So I understand your boundies. That's why I don't believe the young couple in the movie had real love. If they had really loved each other, they would have stayed chaste. How did they get from that point to the beautiful, self-sacrificing love when they were elderly?

Well, if they had been christians, it would have been through repentance and the grace of God.

Speaking of movies, we finally got to see Expelled tonight. Our local theater showed it Wednesday and Thursday as part of its International Film Series. Anyway, I highly recommend it. Merv wants to buy it when it comes out.

Actually, my mom and dad are quite comfortable at this point. My dad is a retired Navy chaplain (officer), so he has retirement pay, the church pays him quite decently, and when his parents died, his 2 sisters, both wealthy, bought his third of the property.

We were never rich, but never dirt poor either, and my parents kept us in christian schools most of the time.

I'm the one not doing so well financially now due to student loans, but I'm steadily paying that off. Thankfully, my parents charge me no rent, so that helps, and for working with my sister, I get paid through the state.

However, I have a very nice room in the house with a beautiful bed that parents got me. It's sometimes a funny feeling to live in a beautiful, big house, and know you have no money, lol.

You're quite welcome, and thank you!!

P.S. Sorry I couldn't put all the quotes in one box, even though Cynthia, one of our moderators explained it, I still can't do it.

I love both of those movies too.

I especially liked Miss Potter. I have one of those hobby dollhouses (had it since 1990 for high school graduation, and still haven't finished ), and the nursery is (well, partly is, partly will be) Peter Rabbit, and I've always liked her books.

I love Ever After, but haven't seen it for ages! I must do something about that.

I haven't seen Miss Potter. I'll have to do something about that too. It's filmed in the area where one of my UK snail mail penpals lives.

The last movie (that I saw) that was filmed in Hawaii was Indiana Jones. Actually I believe part of all the Indiana Joneses moves were filmed here. Then of course the the t.v. series "Lost" (which I don't watch).

Was I missed? I joined Facebook yesterday, and had so much fun finding friends that I couldn't pry myself away. If any of you want to connect with me there, PM me your email address or your real name, and I'll add you as a friend. I'm having a blast with it!

Coolness! I'll go check my e-mail!

I found this neat little application, and I'm decorating this bulletin board on my profile page.....which is something I would do in real life!

Hi all. I wrote about today's Sunday School class in my blog, so I hope some of you will click the link. Thought-provoking stuff!

Meanwhile, today's question: Do you have your cell phone on at work?

Have a cell, it's the only way to call me since I moved. And the ring is turned off in class and during church services. It's on at work.
