Regarding Little Red Ridinghood. In a modern version of the story the hunter would have to be arrested for shooting and cutting open the wolf if it was on the endangered species list.

And PETA would have staged a demonstration!

I like Little Blue Ridinghood better, only the names have been changed to prevent an investigation.

They're talking about banning some of those stories over here because they are politically incorrect.

We missed church because the RIDE driver wouldn't listen to us, and made my chair tip back by putting the seatbelt on so that it activated my chair's tilt switch. He wouldn't put John on the van till I was tied down, and he couldn't (wouldn't?) understand me enough to listen. He told his supervisor that I was tilting the chair. Now, why would I do that? So finally, John told him to take me off the van. I was terribly disappointed and angry!

((((DebbieLynne)))) I hope you report that. Sounds like he needs a course in working with those with disabilities and common courtesy.

You bet we'll report it!

Of course, he reported me as "difficult."

Well, I did yell at him...

He didn't even know how to turn my chair on. He kept pressing the horn button.

Sounds like he needs to remember rule #1 when it comes to wheelchairs. Listen to the person that has to sit in it day after day. Chances are good that person knows what he/she's talking about.

I'm sorry that happened, Deb. I hope the people at RIDE headquarters listen to your side of the story.

That stinks, DebbiLynne.

Does anyone in your church have a wheelchair accessible van that could pick you and John up?

I took a class where we read many of the Fairy Tales and quite a few of them did not have happy endings. They were the moral tales of the time (no school ya know).

I wish they did.

We're still trying to get a call through to the supervisor. Not much success.

I guess I've developed a thick skin. Rarely do my feathers get ruffled any more, except by my sons and one of Nate's friends. That driver probably doesn't like to admit that he doesn't know his job.

....once I heard myself on tape; now I'm more compassionate to those who just encounter me. He should have listened to John, at least. I've had drivers not clamp me in right and I swing to one side, so they stop and do it right. Thankfully, it doesn't happen often.
