Christian City Church Greensboro

It's a family of churches originating in Sydney, Australia, which now has church plants all over the world.

Its too bad that Calvary Chapel and The Vineyard weren't listed. They are the two newest big denominations, and I bet they would have had sizable percentages. How come Pentecostal, Eastern Orthodox, and Mennonite/Quaker weren't up there?

I've been to a lot of church, I noticed some churches - A LOT of them - have that CCM (Contemporary Christian music).. it seems to follow me wherever I go. I have also enjoyed the hymns, but not too many churches seem to have hymns.

Please tell me where CCM has not invaded itself!! it has no meaning for me, and some of the songs on the flip chart are songs about "God in the galaxy" and "God in the universe" etc.. and they have totally lost me. I like the hymns and the hand clapping campmeeting songs and the choirs. But not the nicey nicey beautiful orchestra choir songs, but actually the black choirs have the BEST!!

the next church i find with CCM I am gonna hafta scream.

We spent 20 years in the Church of the Nazarene and the last 15 years in a Southern Baptist Church, but we are getting ready to look for a church closer to home. It’s so hard to leave everyone, but we know that the Lord is leading us. I’m content right now in waiting on my husband, who is waiting on the Lord. However, we, or I should say I have been doing some website research, because we are also open to a change in denominations.

Non-denominational with Charismatic roots (we're moving away from some of the Charismatic ideas into a more "mainstream" Christian church).

The Baptist church I attend has a traditional Sunday service at 9:00am with hymns, and a more "modern" service at 10:45am with CCM. I attend the 9:00am service; I personally much prefer the solemn dignity of the traditional hymns.

Our church in non-denominational, although a few years ago two churches in our town merged to form our curent church. Of the original churches, one was non-denominational and the other was Baptist. We are all brothers and sisters in Christ no matter what denomination. All one Body and one Church. That is part of the reason our elders decided on the non-denominational approach when the churches merged, they didn't want the perceived dividision of being part of one specific denomination

Before moving to VA we attended a non-denom church, Pacific Coast Church (http://pacificcoastchurch.org/) that had an overseeing....um...association (?) that was Baptist. Then they had a split and we felt God wanted us to go with the split and attended Compass Bible Church (http://www.compasschurch.org/) where the pastor was ordained by a group that I can't recall the name of. Now we are churchless in VA. One of the reasons we have rejected a church is because there is no overseeing body and it looks like the pastors have simply ordained themselves.

I recently found a blog discussing Sovereign Grace. I was shocked at the number of hits this blog has had so far. It was started this past Thanksgiving and now has over 22,000 hits.

Interesting balanced but uncensored discussion. Definitely worth checking out.

Now attending E-Free, but was raised Methodist (a Baptist church was in the neighborhood, though), converted to Catholicism when I married my husband, left that and joined a CCM church, then went back to a Southern Baptist church, then left that to go to the E-Free. It's been quite the ride.......

Messianic Jewish, but when my work shift changes next month I'll have to find a Grace Brethren or conservative Mennonite. Or maybe try an Orthodox for a month.
