I am not sure about lifetime warranties. I know of limited warranties, where they guarantee the tires for a fixed number of miles and if you have to replace them they will prorate the cost of the credit they give you on the old tires.

I would think for a lifetime warrantie you are going to pay a lot for the initial set of tires.

Yeah, they probably would be pretty expensive. And maybe it is a limited warranty I'm thinking of - one of my clients was telling me about all the times he'd replaced his tires without cost.

Well, you've given me plenty to think about. But right now, it's time for me to head off to bed! Have a great evening!

Honey, I think I need a new set of tires. I just had them rotated last week, but the car still shakes as if on unbalanced tires. I've never had to buy a full set before - where's the best place to go, and do they still offer lifetime warranties?

Shaking is not caused by the tires. It's caused by the alignment. From what your other post says (worn parts on the outside) you need at least a front end alignment. Possible a four wheel alignment

Does the car pull left or right when you take your hands off the wheel (when moving of course?)

Your tire shop should have recommended an alignment once they saw the uneven wear of the tires.

Have someone check your alignment BEFORE you get new tires else you'll just be ruining another set of tires.

I had wondered about the alignment, but there is no pulling to one side or the other. The tires are evenly worn on the outsides. I had one mechanic look at the tires briefly and he recommended a rotation. Then I took it to the shop where I get the oil changed (they don't specialize in tires), and they didn't ask any questions, just did the rotation.

I don't really trust them to look for things - I'm pretty good at diagnosing car problems (my dad is a mechanic, he's just ready for retirement [no pun intended ] and I don't want to bother him with problems right now). Anyway, I will have someone look at the alignment first.

Hey Sweetums, would you pretty please just listen to my rant AND not try to fix it?

You do understand that that is one of the hardest, if not the hardest, things for a man to do?

M and I had a talk about that a long time ago. She said that sometimes she just wanted to talk and have me listen and not fix it. I think it took something like a week for me to understand what she wanted. It is so far outside my worldview that I couldn't even imagine someone not wanting the problem fixed.

So if you ask that, make sure you realize the internal struggle that your sweetie is fighting to do it for you.

Thanks for the article. Looks like my tires are still imbalanced AND I need a re-alignment. I'll be taking the car to Midas this weekend.

Are you saying that some men actually do listen to the rant?

I do have to say though...if you guys could do this it would rack up some pretty major brownie points...really. I had a guy friend who I would start ranting about something at work or such and then he would try to interject here and there a solution and then I would say "Yah, but". After a while he learned if the "yahbuts" came that mean I just needed to rant and he'd say "okay...I won't try to fix it...carry on with the rant". Sorry if that is tough on you guys but like I said it will really make your sweetie just want to hug and squeeze you more. Might even win you an extra kiss or two.

As much as it is in a guy's nature to be "Mr Fix it", if it would bring us more hugs and kisses, I guess we will give it a shot.

Sweetums, thank you for willingness to want to fix things... but somethings we need to process through.. in a sense, you are fixing things by loving us enough to be a sounding board... a safe place to share the good, bad, and ugly.. Which makes you even better in our sight, held in high regard..

BUT sweetums, understand this.... there are some things you actually do have to fix It is the decernment and wisdom that God gives you that helps you decern from sounding board, to refridgerator mover
