Now I'm wondering about the solos on three Old Paths Quartet projects I recently got. I might as well start with Journey Down the Old Path Volume 2: no solo: Boundless Love, Canaanland is Just in Sight, Hallelujah I'm Going Home, Won't it be Wonderful There 2. It is Well - Tim Rackley??? 3. I'll Have a New Life - Brandon Berry 4. After All - ??? 6. He Loves Me - Brandon Berry 7. Somebody Touched the Lord - ??? 8. Guilty of Loving Me - Jeremy Peace 9. Echoes From the Burning Bush - Brandon Berry 10. One Day I Will - ???

Also, on the Dixie Melody Boys' A Seat in the Heavenly Choir, does anyone know the solos? (Tenorsister might.) I'm thinking it's Ed on "Springtime in Heaven," Harold Reed on "Cry from the Cross," Dustin Sweatman on "Jesus Pilots My Ship," and Devin McGlamery / Harold Reed on "God's Still God."

I didn't realize Devin sang with Ed and the guys. When he was a little kid (12 yrs old or so), he did a solo project down in his hometown of Valdosta, GA. I doubt he'd remember, but I was doing some radio work down in the area at the time, and taped a radio interview with him while passing through V-Town. I didn't hear anything really out of him until recently when I learned he was singing with Karen Peck and New River. Sorry; didn't mean to get so off target with the intent of the post. We now return to you to the original programming. Steve
"Cry From The Cross"
WOW, WOW,WOW, WHAT A SONG!!!!!!!!!! I've never heard Harold sing it though. When I first saw the DMB, Dan Keeton closed out a concert with it. I own the "Historic Journey", Volumes 1-4 projects from them. For the vast majority of the songs, I have absolutley NO CLUE who is singing. I can easily pick out Ed and McCray Dove, On a few songs I can identify Alan O'Neal, Ed's son. Does anyone have these CD's who knows who is singing what?

Another project: "A Tribute To The Songs Of Bill & Gloria Gaither", on the Crossroads label, copyright 1999. Produced by Jeff Collins and Roger Talley. Track list............. 1) Squire Parsons FAMILY OF GOD This is obvious 2) Won By One THEN CAME THE MORNING I'm not sure, but I think Clayton Inman has the verses 3) The Talley Trio GET ALL EXCITED Lauren Talley on both verses 4) The Perry Sisters THE LONGER I SERVE HIM ??????????????????????? 5) The Isaacs I JUST FEEL LIKE SOMETHING GOOD IS ABOUT TO HAPPEN Tim Surrett has the lead on the choruses and 1st verse. Rebecca Isaacs Bowman takes the lead on the 2nd, with Sonya singing harmony on the first 2 lines, then Tim joins in on another harmony. Sounds like Sonya takes the lead on the tag, I'm not sure. 6) The Kindom Heirs BECAUSE HE LIVES I beleive it's Aruther Rice on first verse, solo parts of the chorus, and second verse. Very good performance. But of course, since it's Aruther. 7) Kirk Talley I WILL SERVE THEE again, a "no-brainer" 8) The Trio SOMETHING BEAUTIFULL Wow, this is great!!!!!!! I sooooooooo wish that they were able to do much more than they did. Really miss them. Superb blend. Anyway, Ivan has the lead in the whole of the 1st repition of this chorus. Kirk Talley takes the lead on the last line of the 2nd repition and the tag. As Kirk says on the end of that live track, "YEA!!!" Did I already say that I love it? 9) The Kingsmen HE TOUCHED ME ?????????????????? Boy, I'm clueless to this one. Might be Jerry Martin on the first and 2nd verses. But it sounds too low to be him. It's certainly not Parker Jonathan, not likely that it's Bran Hudson. In the last chorus, Jerry takes a high lead. DJS from Clevland, or anyone, please have the answer! 10) Anthony Burger GOD GAVE THE SONG Piano solo. I wish he sang it on this. I love to here him sing.
