beloved06 -> What is your ultimate Tear Jerker movie? (10/21/2007 3:20:56 PM)

Hey, I was reading though The Forest Gump thread, reading how everone cries through it and I was just wondering,

What is the movie that more than any other, makes you cry?

Mine is Terms of Endearment starring Debra Winger and Shirley MacClaine. I don't just cry, I BALL. ANd i'm not even the type to cry during movies.

Terms of Endearment, of course.

Steel Magnolias

The Champ- with Ricky Schroeder...especially when he was saying 'Wake up champ, wake up!'

Madame X- with Lana Turner. dh gives me a big roll of paper towel (not tissues) everytime I watch this. I start crying when they show the big gate in the beginning of the movie with that soundrack playing in the background.[:(]

I think the one that comes to mind right now is actually a movie that was just made for tv. It's called Dawn Anna....I saw it advertised a lot and didn't think I would like it...then I watched it once and cried...actually sobbed is a better word for it. And then I watched it again a couple days ago and same thing...

I despise this movie... but Titanic. Sobbed

A Walk to Remember

This isn't a tear jerker movie, but I always cry when I watch "The Trouble with Angels", an old Hayley Mills movie.

I'm glad someone mentioned Dawn Anna - that was a really good movie, and I was completely blindsided by the ending - did not see it coming.

Totaldevotion -> RE: What is your ultimate Tear Jerker movie? (10/22/2007 10:25:32 PM)

Return to Me
Old Yeller
The Notebook
Beaches
The Ultimate Gift
I saw Love Story 20 times, and cried every single time.

The original was very good and also a tear jerker.

horsepill -> RE: What is your ultimate Tear Jerker movie? (10/22/2007 11:13:21 PM)

The Color Purple. No matter how many times I see it, the ending has never failed to get me bawling.

sunshine4God -> RE: What is your ultimate Tear Jerker movie? (10/23/2007 12:38:28 AM)

Passion of the Christ
I cannot stand to watch the agony of what God endured for us
and it breaks my heart to see!

Okami -> RE: What is your ultimate Tear Jerker movie? (10/23/2007 2:00:31 AM)

heh, note to first couple posts:
It's "Bawling"
"balling" would be something quite different...

angie4God -> RE: What is your ultimate Tear Jerker movie? (10/23/2007 12:55:53 PM)

Ghost

Haven't seen it in a while but it gets me everytime.

miasma -> RE: What is your ultimate Tear Jerker movie? (10/23/2007 8:46:21 PM)

I haven't seen them since the first time, because they were so sad and depressing:

Breaking the Waves

Dancer in the Dark

wareaglekd -> RE: What is your ultimate Tear Jerker movie? (10/24/2007 8:58:09 AM)

Riding in Cars with Boys - You have to be a single mom of a son to get it. It tore me up! I can add The Ultimate Gift to that now too. kd

violetlight -> RE: What is your ultimate Tear Jerker movie? (10/24/2007 5:49:01 PM)

Haven't seen this in years, but when i was younger ET always got me. [:o]
Titanic made me cry when it first came out, as did Ghost, but I've seen the endings of both recently on tv and no tears were shed - I guess I'm 'over it' [:D]

These days, I'd say The Passion of Christ trumps all for me. I can't get through it without crying.[:(]

I agree. I don't usually cry over a movie but this one did it. [:o]

PHmosh1 -> RE: What is your ultimate Tear Jerker movie? (10/25/2007 7:57:34 AM)

Grease : because it's so terrible

Dirty Dancing: If I ever have to watch it all the way through, I might have to kill myself.

Are we talking about emotional tears or tears of unbearable agony? [:D]
