I'm anticipating '08 will result in a lot of changes for me... My daughter is getting married and they plan to move to Wisconsin this summer. Wifey is already starting to feel seperation anxiety. Me too but not as much.

Me and my wife plan to move too but I still got my younger two in college and that is a complicating factor. We're in Phoenix now.

I think a couple of you are notherners... Is the climate really that bad up there? My daughter is lobbying for us to move up there too and I do find the idea appealing but the winters concern me.

From Phoenx to Wisconsin? HA ha ha HA HA ha ha.. Sorry. lost it for a while.

Wisconsin is wonderful in the summers (Both weeks) But the winters can be brutal. Takes a while to get the blood thickened up enough to handle them. For the first few winters you will probably be shivering (all the time) Figure bone chilling cold and you're not used to it.

I lived in WI until I was 22. Moved to the DC/Southern Indiana latitude and Now I don't go back in Winter. Too cold for me.

However if you go in the summer (either week) and stay through the winter you get a few months to adjust to it.

Where in WI are they going? Milwaukee and the southern part of the state can be 15 to 20 degrees warmer than the northern reaches.

Hi Denny,

Yes sir, we got pretty bad weather in Los Angeles. I think all across California. Its shocking because in Southern California, it only rains like once a year! And its always hot and sunny every day.

Now, all of a sudden, today we are hit with heavy rain, strong winds, freezing temperature, and mudsliding. I was late to work this morning because there was numerous accidents on the freeway. Otherwise, everything is fine.

From the sounds of things, Ohio is pretty-near perfect. Think I'll stick it out here for a while longer...even if the price of hay keeps going up. Howdy Bibleman, John O and the resta yunz.

How's the garage tonight?

Speaking of garages, there is a radio show here that uses the garage as a gimmick, calling it the Men's Crisis Center. The host of the show is the fictional mayor of a fictional town called Garage Logic.

HERE is the lexicon of terms used in Garage Logic.

quote:

Cylinder Index Tasking Priority:When your wife gives you a TO DO list, those jobs requiring the use of internal combustion engines will receive the highest priority. The more cylinders, the higher the priority.

Garage Door Opener:This GL holiday is celebrated the first Friday in Spring when the temperature reaches 70 degrees. GLers participate by opening their garage door and lounging inside with a cold one.

Three Prices You Pay Syndrome:
1 - The price you paid for the item.
2 - The price you tell her you paid for the item.
3 - The price you pay when she finds out the price you paid.

They'll be heading to a small town in north western WI. Duluth is the nearest significant city but it's an hour or so away.

I told her not to buy a house until they see how they cope with the first winter .

Excellent advice! I have a son that lives in Green Bay. He and his family actually like it up there!

Well, that may be true too.

I have lived here in Michigan for about 22 years now, but I was born and raised in Nebraska. Got married and joined the navy at 18. Then we moved to Illinois...Florida...Idaho...South Carolina...Georgia...Virginia...back to Nebraska and finally here in Michigan.

My brother lived in the DC area and worked for the Metro. He loved Civil War stuff and blugrass get-togethers...fiddler's conventions and the like.

That sounds almost as bad as the politics in Iowa.

I had a friend that was into collecting guitars. He had them hid around the house. When he got new ones, he had them delivered to the church so his wife wouldn't find out. After he died, they found 26 guitars. His wife only knew about less than half of them.

(Denny stokes up the fire, mixes up a cup of hot chocolate, turns on the wide screen to the Redskins/Seahawks game)

Say, I'm gonna call in for pizza delivery. Anyone want me to order some extra?

Morning guys!

Thought I'd stop by on the way to church and stoke up the fire. I've left the Sunday paper here and I'll get some more Spicy V-8 while I'm out. Guess I'll bring Ralph by to clean up the pizza crusts left on the floor.
