Who would you like to see make the top 5 running finalist in the Mixed Group of the Year catagory?

You ended the poll a minute after it started. Could you change that so we can vote too?

Thanks! I like the Hayes family, but I have to admit the Hoppers are awesome!

Thiese are based on the top 10 finalist in the Singing News Awards ballot for Mixed Group of the Year. I will post the Trio of the Year finalist later.

The Hoppers are definitely one of my favorites. I just love the Freemans so I understand loyalty.

Got to go with The Perrys on this one. It's not my favorite line-up of the group, but my favorite on the list.

I voted for the Perrys, if for no other reason than the fact than I love their "Look No Further" project.

I'll admit I'm biased, so my vote goes to some deserving first time nominees, the Diplomats.

I agree, Big Cntry, I'm a little biased, too, when it comes to The Dips. AT first, I wasn't too sure about whether or not they could pull off getting into the Top 5, but you know, they have as good a chance as any of the others!! They do have a loyal fanbase!

I voted for the Diplomats, too. There are a bunch of wonderful mixed groups in the top 10. I really hope the Dips make it into the Top 5!!!!

If I could hand pick the final five nominees for 2008 they would be:

Freemans
Hayes Family
Hoppers
Isaacs
Perrys

From the list, I probably like the Perrys the best. The Hoppers and Isaacs are also great. I haven't heard the Diplomats in person yet, but I'm almost always for the "underdog, new guy" winning the SN awards, so MORE power to them!

The Perrys are not only my favorite mixed quartet, they are one of my favorite quartets period. My other favorites mixed groups would be the Hoppers, the Freemans, and the Collingsworth Family. I do not have any music by the Diplomats, but it looks like I need to get some. They have never been in my area (that I am aware of), and I can't find their music in any stores. I guess I will have to order from them or wait until NQC.

A funny thing happened yesterday. Unfortunately, I was sick, so I didn't go to church or to my parent's house, but I DID pick out some SG DVDs to watch. And I spotted one that I had bought but had never watched. It was Phil and Kim Collingsworth (Not Collingsworth Family). The copywrite date was 2002. Little Olivia was 4 years old and was just precious! Brooklyn was 12! The DVD is named "A Very Special Evening." It was teriffic. Brooklyn sang a few songs with Phil and Kim, and the girls played their violins, but mostly it WAS Phil and Kim. I really enjoyed it.

You may have a good shot at some good music for free here, I hear bulba2 has some pretty close ties with the Diplomats!
