Life goes on. I am getting restless with my job. Retirement is starting to look good to me, but that will be in 6 to 9 months, so I will have to hang on till then.

For those of you who don't know I am turning *gulp*30*shudder* this year.
I know it seems like a not so big of a deal for some people, but I've likened it to a honest to goodness phobia. As real to me as my fear of clowns. *double shudder*
So me being the logical (ha!) and dissecting person I am, I decided to figure out why I have this fear.
When I was in high school I loved the idea of living in college, going out, hanging with my friends, joining study groups, stuff like that. I just always figured my life would be more freeing and more enjoyable when I was in college. I couldn't wait for it to happen.
When I was a junior in high school I got pregnant with Thing 1 and the idea of going away for college was completely shot. So I didn't. Instead I had my baby and finished high school.
In my 20's I had Thing 2 and was married, then divorced, then moved...all sorts of drama going on there.
So here I am, 29 years old and realising, I lost out on my early 20's. I truly did not experience them like most people would.
Yes, I went to college (for a small while anyway) and yes I went out with friends; but I always had more responsibilities, more commitments, more "you have a kid!? no thanks!" from the frat boys.
Please don't take this as whining because I'm not. I know there are people out there who managed to live their lives just fine at an early age. I'm merely pointing a few things out about myself.
Now I am living life, having fun, enjoying my kids, and realise, I don't feel like I need to turn 30 next month. I feel like I should have a few more years until I have to reach that point in my life.
Sooo...this is the reason for the panic attacks, and the freak outs, and the geunine worry of hitting this age.
Someone said to just tell people I'm still 29 until I'm comfortable with being in my 30's but that could be years.
I don't want to look back and mourn my wasted youth; I want to enjoy my life as it is, I just...don't wanna grow up yet? Does that make sense?
I want to enjoy my 20's for a few more years, get them out of my system and then move onto my 30's with confidence and ease. 
Not too much to ask for, is it?

Tink...*sigh*. I wish I could help. So I will try--but please be patient and understanding if my help sounds more like trite platitudes, ok?
30 is JUST A NUMBER. It doesn't change who you are or what you are doing now or have done in the past or who you should grow into or be.
It sounds to me like you have put a lot of stock into being "30-something" and the cultural requirements that seems to communicate to you. Those are the world's concepts.
But it's NOT GOD. Ok? God doesn't say anywhere "Thou shalt act more mature and responsible when thou art 30 and shalt have no more fun".
Stop putting requirements on yourself that God doesn't put there.
I may have told this story before...maybe at the GT? But when I was about to turn 30 I was having trouble with it, too. Then a friend sent me a card that said something like "don't worry about turning 30. Just think how much fun we're going to have celebrating your 10,000th birthday!"
That really put some perspective on it for me! I AM a Christian, after all. I started living my eternal life at age 6 when I was saved. Starting then, I'm going to keep on having birthdays forEVER.
And so are you. 
So...30 is no big deal!
Let's look forward to celebrating your 2030th birthday instead, and laughing at ourselves for our silliness in being afraid to turn 30.
