I decided to start a thread on prayer scriptures.
I believe God's word is His part of our prayer life.
Reading the word concerning prayer helps us to have faith in God answering our prayers. So post your favorite verse and any comments you may have. Thanks.

One of my favorites is John 16:23-24

23 And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you.
24 Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.


It reveals to us that we are to pray in Jesus name and that God wants to answer our prayers so that our joy may be full! God is good!

I was given this verse paraphrased years ago:

Greater is He that is in me, than he who is in the world.

Thank you, Gracefilled for starting this thread .... a good idea. Already a number of my favorite prayer verses are posted in this thread.

Here is another one that helps us to feel free to come to our Father without fear or hesitation.

Psalm 103:
13 As a father has compassion on his children,
so the LORD has compassion on those who fear him;
14 for he knows how we are formed,
he remembers that we are dust.

Another one of my favorites is...

Philipians 4:6-7 Amplified Bible

6 Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition (definite requests), with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God.

7 And God's peace [shall be yours, that tranquil state of a soul assured of its salvation through Christ, and so fearing nothing from God and being content with its earthly lot of whatever sort that is, that peace] which transcends all understanding shall garrison and mount guard over your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.


It teaches us to not fret but instead to pray and give thanks and Gods peace will keep our hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

My favorite verse is IS 41:10..

So do not fear,for I am with you.
do not be dismayed for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you:
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

This has such special meaning to me, last saturday I was driving home and I have bee praying and crying out to God to please help me and I needed him. I had been going through something that was heartbreaking and I couldn't take it anymore. After about 4 days on that Saturday, I was driving home from being out for the day, and I stopped at the stop light, the SUV in front of me read IS41:10....I went home and looked it up and my heart was pounding, I couldn't believe it, since that day my life has changed forever, he pretty much dropped a ton of bricks in my lap when he answered me, well that's what it felt like....It was the most awesome, amazing thing I have been through, and without a doubt I know he is real, he is alive, he is GOD!!! I know he has waited my life entire life for me to wake up and finally become saved and a christian, but WOW, i never would have expected these feelings...I see lately too over these last 2 weeks, I feel that he has given me a special gift, I just know he has...

anyway, that is my favorite verse that will stick with me forever!!
