That is so cute. At 6 months we were wondering when Akeelah would ever show SIGNS of crawling. She started crawling after she learned to walk (at least she was good to me and started walking early, so I didn't have to carry her everywhere for a year.)

Jennifer, was Vivi's dad there when it happened? I will pray specifically for him also.
Those with little ones close together...can you tell me when you "kicked" the older baby out of the crib and how they did? I don't think Levi is going to be ready to be out any time soon...or rather, that I'm ready for him to be out. He can get out of the crib, but I think he needs those boundaries around him or I'll never be able to keep him in bed.  So...with baby coming in 7 weeks or so, he/she will sleep in the bassinet for a couple months. But what if Levi is still not ready? Put the new baby in the pack n play and leave Levi in the crib? I'm getting a little nervous. Levi is still very much a baby, and we're having another. What were we thinking? LOL

We actually had two cribs for a while, so I'd go the pack and play route for the new baby if needed. I think it can be traumatic to the older sibling to be kicked out of there comfortable place and see the baby immediately take it up. So once Levi's out of the crib, I'd still wait a month or two before putting the baby in there.

Timmy was around 22 months when we put him in his big boy bed, except he got up frquently. We had to run in there constantly to get him back in bed. We hooked up a webcam to his computer for a while there because it was hard to tell if he was up just by listening on the baby monitor. He doesn't get out of bed now, but it took A LOT of working with him to teach him that he can't get up.

I don't *think* this will be an issue with him. He's pretty laid back about stuff like that. Plus, he'll be moving to the car bed in Noah's room, when he is ready to move.
Funny that we've never dealt with this before! When we started having Nick, Noah was already in a big boy bed and Nick slept in a pack n play because the garage sale crib had not survived our many moves. Hannah never did like the crib and was on a mattress next to our bed when Levi was born, so not an issue then either. Our fifth kid and this is the first time for this!

LOL, yeah, Robert is a computer geek. We have about 8 Pentium 3's in our storage unit. Timmy's computer is mostly his DVD player. Sometimes we play some educational games on there like Sesame Street and Jumpstart toddler. Robert really wants the kids to be computer smart, so we're starting early. Timmy already knows what a processor and RAM look like.

Donna, I'm facing the exact same issue. dH came up with the idea that since Nathan's room is so perfectly set up as a nursery, we should move Nathan into a new room, with a big boy bed and whatever he needs for clothing/toy storage.
I have a fellow SAHM in my neighborhood who did exactly that. She had a "big boy room" and a "baby room", and her kids were around 21 months apart. She said it worked fine. Nathan does not leave his crib, but I think he needs those boundaries, too.
A week from Saturday, dH has asked me to take myself and Nathan out of the house for a night so he can do some painting. We can stay at my parents, but I'm not sure what do with Nathan. We've never co-slept, and the pack n play might be to small for him; he's 33" tall right now. The other option is a mattress on the floor shoved into a corner. But I don't know if he'd go to sleep like that.
Right now he's always put down awake, but he has his toys and the crib to keep him contained. Would he go to sleep in a strange room without his crib? I think the pack n play is the best option, and we'll move him to the floor if it's just to cramped for him.

I'd try the pack n play. Is it a full size one? My kids are always tall and they can sleep in them just fine until about 2 or 2.5.
