We didn't hold hands until we were engaged!

We hold hands sometimes ... depending on what we are doing. (I think my wonderful DH holds onto me so I don't wander off, LOL!)

I loved holding hand with my ex. I remember the first time he held my hand, we were watching a movie and he reached over and took my hand, it was a great feeling. After that we would occasionally hold hands during cchurch then when we'd go walking somewhere. We went to Berlin with a group and when he'd hold my hand there it was his way of "keeping me safe" I guess you could say, he lived there for a year so he knew where things were, I didn't. We were also with his friends and these other people and it was a way of showing that we were together. I loved it.
For me I think it's an important part in the realationship.

Alright. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I mean, I don't think it's important in a relationship. What's important in a relationship is Trust, Honesty, etc etc. Holding hands is just an extra bonus! :) ...

OK, true. It's not important. But it sure does make things feel special!

Anyway that you can connect in a healthy way is important in a relationship, IMHO

Oh, I never thought of that! :)

I love holding hands. I've never dated Christians because I really was never religious. I was just dating a guy who wasn't a Christian. I broke up with him last night, which was pretty hard. Because I liked him. But when I committed my life to God, I knew I had to give up my boyfriend.

But we held hands a lot because we just liked doing it, haha.
It's probably one of my favorite things to do basically.
& I don't know why.

I'm sorry beachcooky--I know just how you feel. :(
A while back, I had to break it off with a guy I reallly liked and had been dating for 5 months because I found out he wasn't Christian. (He kept telling me he was raised Catholic, but being raised Catholic and actually still practicing your faith are two totally different things.) In short, I learned I couldn't continue to date him and he learned he was agnostic. :(

I have said here before that I think I fell in love with him the first time he held my hand. It is VERY powerful for me. If I were ever to date again I think hand holding would be off limits until at least engagement. My husband and I hold hands a lot! We hold hands while walking, in the car, seated next to each other and even in bed. It has been 25 years since he first held my hand and I still melt when he does it!

Yeah, I started dating him in April & I recommitted my life to God in early May. Soooo, ever since then, God's telling me, "He's not the one" over and over and over. Every day, seriously. And I kept ignoring it. I was like, "No, I like this guy. I haven't liked a guy in so long. Lets see if he'll change." But the voice of God kept being persistent. And it was then I texted my boyfriend and asked him how much he thinks about God. He said, "Not a lot". So I had to break up with him. But then I felt peace overwhelm me. But then THE NEXT DAY...one of my friends asked me out on a date. It's just like, I just want to be left alone until I'm right with God all the way. Back in the day I used to WANT to date and I used to blame God for not giving me a guy. And now, when I do have guys, I just don't want them because I feel that God already has someone in plan for me and I just want to be left alone by guys that aren't Christians, wanting to date me.

But yeah. He'll give us the desires of our hearts if we delight in Him. I loove that scripture.
