The day that changed my life.

There's been many... the most recent (& I still have to let it go) is sometime in March of this year. When I met that lying, deceitful, conniving, treacherous, dishonest, fraudulent, legerdemainous man... who stole my heart (metaphorically) and refused to give it back, I had to practically snatch it back and am still nursing it back to health.

Ebony, i know you did not really mean the above part of what you wrote to be funny because i know (from experience) these types of things are BEYOND painful.....but that was so cute how you wrote it. i love the quality of a person who can "joke" just a little bit about a not-so-funny matter. i don't know if you meant to do that, but it came across so cute.

and, good heavens, what in the world is "legerdemainous"???!!?? i'll have to look that one up on my online dictionary. that one's got my curiousity.

and YES, MA'AM, (some) men are treacherous beings at times, i have to agree.

(and lest i offend my fellows brothers on here, please note i said "some" in my above statement)

May I put a day which has not happened yet?

July 8 2008

My life will change that day.

How I don't know.

What I do know is that I will no longer be the same.

Just a glimpse but enough of one to know I will come out of the day changed.

I am going to battle. It will be the biggest battle of my life thus far........Victory is assured no matter the outcome.......but I know the fight will be hard.
Joy . . . thinking of you and hoping that your day today went well.

May Our Lord bless you abundantly.

Oh...we get it...so what you're saying is that the some is referring to the brothers on this board and you didn't want to leave us out right? *ChoirDJ winks eye and whispers to the men* (Psst...did I get that one twisted up good enough?) Okay boys, it's war against ju-ju (lol).

Thanks for everyone sharing some things in their lives that were so personal and for some very painful.

I personally can't think of a date, but I can sure think of things that occurred in my life that must have changed me, unfortunately none of them were good. So, reluctant to share right now.

God Bless!

I'm sure we have positive day changers as well. It's a shame we always remember the negative ones because those tend to stand out more. I'm sure that we have more positive day changers than negative ones though. It would be good to list those as well.

On June 1, 2007, After nearly twenty years of marriage, my husband died. It has changed the course of my life, to say the very least.

Was it for good or bad............good of course.....How can I say that?

And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.

I am SO sorry for your loss. I know that's a terrible thing to go through :(
God's ways are higher than our ways.

This day was written in my journal a while ago. But I knew it was the year 2005 and my friends and I almost died. We were in a one story building and the water pipes exploded. There were fans on the ground that were pluggedin, and water was pouring down really quickly (which was obviously dangerous). I seriously remember me walking in water and my flip flops fell off. I couldn't go get them because the water was pouring down and we had to flee the building. Once we got outside, the ceilings in the building collapsed.

But after that day, I finally accepted Jesus as my personal Lord & Savior. I needed him in my life, and just that experience made me change. I don't know how & I don't know why, but I'm glad that it did.

I have a positive one. I can't remember the exact day right off the top of my head, but it was May 2004. I arrived at Lutherock that day. I was 3 hours from home and didn't know anybody. I didn't have a way to leave. That night in the circle though, because of a mutual acquaintance, I met my friend Drew. Meeting Drew has really changed my life. He helped me through the summer by being a friend. He has helped me grow as a christian and I know that no matter what happens I can always call him and know that i'll hear a kind word.

I can list two positive life changing experiences. The first is the day that I got my present job. When I was called and told that a post was available I was scared but happy (to join the ranks of the employed) even though I expected this job to be temporary, God had different ideas - this was to be my vocation. His ways are not our ways. There have been lots of ups and downs so far and even times when I wondered what the heck am I doing here, but God has been with me through it all. Taking away my doubts, leading me through tough times as I touch the lives of others and all the while drawing and holding me close to him.

The other positive experience is when I joined my present singles group - my life really changed. All of a sudden I had an active social life, I had people who I could connect with, and simultaneously my relationship with God continued to grow.

Positive experiences are sort of like a contiuum. You can kind of pinpoint exactly when they start, but it's not a one event thing. The effects just keep spiralling. And through it all our relationship with God is at the core
of it all.
