I think it was $9.50 for a matinee last week.

Ya know what, it is kind of ridiculous, but I don't go to the theater all that often, and if I do, I want everything to be absolutely pristine - not so much the floor (I don't care), but the sound, picture, and structural integrity of my chair had better be great. For that, I'll pay an extra couple of dollars to go to the good theater (and not all big, expensive theaters are good).

Most movies here (Montgomery County MD) are around $10 for regular show and $6-$8 for matinees.

My wife just got back from Lansing MI and saw movies (regular show) for $3.50 to $4.

$6.50 for children and matinée
$8.50 for regular

The cheapest popcorn is $4.75 for a small bag. Just 2-3 years ago matinée pricing was only $4.50. Ahhh... inflation:{

I like to go to the cheap theatre. $3.00 movies!!! And they almost always have a coupon in the paper for a buy a snack get a snack free. Two people can go to the movies AND eat for $10. All the movies have already been in the other theatre for awhile but that's ok!

Here in Chicago, I think it depends on the movie theater.

I saw The Dark Knight in AMC last week, and I payed $9.75 just for a ticket for the movie. I saw The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian about a month and a half ago, and we only payed $8.50. Either way, it's pretty expensive. >.<

A small drink is like $4.25, and a small popcorn is around the same price. So...going to a movie here is kind of annoying, because of the prices.

Here in México it's a lot cheaper, 30 to 40 pesos, which it's like 3 or 4 dollars. It's pretty cheap considering that the facilities are very modern. IMAX costs 60 or 70 pesos.

Our movie theater has actually gone down in price. It was 10.50 and now it's 9.50. I guess the empty theaters got their attention.

8.50 for adults
7.50 for children under 12

1.00 off for students, doesn't matter if its elementary school or college students.

7.50 matinee 9.50 Evening. Think its the same price at all three theatres. Then its 2.50 extra if the movie is 3d but I think thats everywhere.

How much does it cost to see a movie in your town? In my town,it's about $9.50.

That's about how much it costs at our nearest theater, with matinees being $5.00. Add in the price of food and drink and it's just ridiculous. That's why we try and wait until a movie hits the dollar theater.
