Yeah, I need to get a sign up for free stuff. Don't want people to just walk by and take it...although they MIGHT in my neighborhood...hard to say.

We made about $150. Not bad for a day, I suppose.

Yeah, we always do the "Free Take-It" signs at the end of the day. I just don't want to put it back in my house.

Good morning, ladies. Aunt and I went to a wedding last night. It was a blast. We left the reception a little after midnight and they were just getting ready to cut the cake (7 layers). I'm hesitant to post pictures on a public board so pm me if you want me to e-mail you the link to Photo Bucket, OK?

I managed to get up this morning for church but E wasn't feeling well, so we're home anyway. I figure we'll either listen to a sermon or I can read one to E. The twins might have to settle for a nice Christian cartoon or something since they're hardly sermon-listening age. LOL

Have a nice day, ladies.

Thanks Karlie!

I like going to garage sales, but my neighbourhood doesn't have them. We're all apartment buildings so it's hard to do. My mom lives in an upscale neighbourhood that has great garage sales but it's hard for me to get up that early and drive all the way there.

We had a great time at our bbq yesterday. It rained off and on but we had a gazebo so no one got too wet. My husband's family are crazy to get together with, so after some initial quarreling it was a fun day.

No church for us this morning. I'll let Dh sleep in, Akeelah and I are up watching Sesame Street!

I love garage sales...DH and I made a killing this year. Here its the off season for them right now because its so hot. They'll probably start up again around September. I would go on craigslist to make a list of the sub sales in nice neighborhoods and we'd start at 7 or 8am and go till we either ran out of cash or people started closing things down (around 12 usually).
Around here, anything put out to the curb is considered free for the taking. We've gotten rid of lots of things that way.

I'm not a real fan of garage sales, and definitely not of having one of my own. Thankfully we haven't had a garage sale in years. It was scary as the night that we'd had the garage sale, we had a burglar. Thankfully we didn't get broken into, but we knew that whoever it was had been prowling around the house and called the police. The garage sale was in aid of getting some ladies to an AGLOW conference, so it wasn't just for one of the ladies I live with. It would have been one thing if it had been her money taken, but when the proceeds were for 7 women, it would have made it worse.

Yeah, we're debating about putting things on the curb...or by the trash dumpster. I don't think the sanitation engineer would like that too well though.

I let the neighbor girl come over and pick out some stuffed animals. Our son has WAY too many...so we were selling some of the ones that weren't "special" to us. I have a lady to give the birth to toddler clothing to. Now I just need to figure out who to bless with the toddler to preschool clothing. I just don't want someone to be too overwhelmed with all of these clothes. When we were sorting through things, I found clothing that I had been given when our son was a newborn...that just now fits him (at age 5). I'm just not that organized, I guess. And we missed him wearing some items as he outgrew them before I remembered where I had them stored. I heard someone mention that we do have a local second hand store that takes donations...it's ran by a church...so I wouldn't have a problem with that.

Oh...we left some of the stuff out overnight and that was a mistake. It hardly EVER rains in Cali. This morning...I heard it raining...so we had to make a mad dash outside to get our stuff. We may not necessarily want it anymore, but we don't want it being destroyed either.

Church was good today. We had some people come over to purchase the makeup desk we had (at the garage sale yesterday)...yay! Oh and the man said if we still had our stereo equipment on Friday, he'll stop by to pick it up...just didn't have the extra cash right now. We'll save it for him...no problem...he & his wife have kept their word so far on stuff...so no reason to sale it to someone else!

I went to church this morning and then went to visit my dad for a while. His radiation is wearing him out. Then I went to visit my SIL for a couple of hours. On Tuesday she and the kids are moving to Houston. My brother is hoping to join them in a month or so. He is trying to get a transfer from his company. I hope they aren't separated for too long. He has a job interview in Houston at the end of the month. Praying that he gets the job! Then I went to evening services.

Tomorrow I am going to go help my SIL finish packing. I think I'll spring for pizza for everyone tomorrow night. It's going to be the last time that I'll see my SIL and her children for a long time.

Today she and I didn't do any packing. We just had girl talk. We were both in tears when I left. When she or I need a break we just call each other up or just stop off at each other's house. We won't be able to do that anymore.

Hi, ladies!

It's only 1 p.m. and I'm pooped. I dropped the twins off at camp and then took E to the doctor. He's had a bad cough and has trouble breathing too. He wasn't wheezing when the dr. checked him so he told him to just keep the inhaler handy for if he needed it. He thought it was exercised induced asthma. He gave him a couple of cough meds...one expectorant and the other for the actual cough. We call him back in 2 days...sooner if he gets worse.

After my stretching class (E went and watched) we went to the pharmacy and then got the car washed. Watched the 4th Harry Potter movie while they cleaned the car. It only cost a little over $3 and it looks nice and shiny. Got wiped down and vacuumed inside too. (Kind of makes up for the gas prices. LOL)

Well, Have a nice day, ladies. I hope garage sales, moves, etc. for y'all go well.

Roberta- I'm sorry your dad is worn out from all of that. Hopefully he get his energy back quick after the treatment's over.

Roberta - I'm sorry to hear about your dad. I remember what a toll it took on my MIL when she was going through radiation.

I hear you on the family moving thing, Roberta. We had lots of goodbyes at church yesterday....and not everyone was there...so we'll have to try to catch up with them this week.

Radiation isn't much fun....$4 for a car wash isn't bad at all. Want to come wash MY car? LOL...it needs it badly. The sad thing is we've had car washes almost every weekend at our church/school. We just haven't made it over there during one. And we do have the supplies to do it at home.

Hope you ladies have a good day. We're just planning on packing (more) and it's a workout day.

Does anyone know if there's something temporary a dentist can do to a tooth that needs a root canal? I know a while back I said I have a tooth that majorly needs one, but since we don't have the money (didn't have it then and still don't have it), I just have to try to keep it from breaking or getting worse as best I can. But when I went to get the root canal priced, the dentist noticed that another tooth that I had previously gotten a root canal in broke, which means I can't floss it and the tooth next to that one broke because there was decay in between. I don't want to get the teeth pulled, but since I don't have that kind of money, I'm wondering if there is anything temporary they can do until I can get the canal done. (I'm not sure how they'll fix the tooth that had the canal that's broken...and not sure how they'll fix the tooth that broke next to it.) I might end up having to get them all pulled when I have a break, but some of them are so bad that I don't think I can wait until a break (I get really sick when I get permanent teeth removed). The dental schools around won't do the work, and since I'm disabled (hopelly not forever)... I have to rely on my family to pay everything other than some odds/ends things I can do. (I'm on their insurance, but root canals still cost a ton on top of insurance). So now I just have to figure out what I can do with what I have. One is so bad though that I'm going to have to get something done hopefully on wednesday. I would have gotten them fixed before they got this bad, but money has always been the problem...and in all the time I'm waiting for money, teeth keep breaking and getting worse, adding to the cost (if that makes sense). I've never heard of something temporary, but I figure it's worth asking.

I'm not sure, but for some reason I seem to remember my mom having something temporary done. She needed work done which I seem to remember as a root canal, but she was going away so they did something temporary for her. I'd ask her about it, but she's out of town. So I probably didn't give you a useful answer!

I would think so. Just ask your dentist about it.

I picked up the kids from camp plus an extra one. He's here to play PS2 with E until time for taekwondo. M decided to start hitting him in the car and when we got home he didn't want to get out. When I remind him of who's in charge he gets mad so that's what he did today. He kept running away from me when I was trying to get him from the car to the building so he got in trouble. He had to spend time in his room for getting mad at getting punished and throwing stuff and then he calmed down. I'm pooped!

Only 2 more hours until we leave for taekwondo and I can dump them...I mean, leave them...in their class while I walk with my iPod.

Hi ladies.

I just had a quiet day today. Had planned on going to the gym, but was just too sore. Ended up sleeping a lot today.

I hope you all have a good day.

I'm really trying to get the teeth fixed because of my constant (very bad) headaches/neckaches and my hair is falling out badly. I tell people I got it cut, but that's just to avoid being embarrassed. I'd rather people think I did it on purpose I guess. The only thing that's held me back is lack of money (and I can't go out and make any money). My parents don't want to pay for a root canal, but now things have deteriorated to where I probably need two (there were some teeth I could have gotten fillings in a year ago, but now they've gotten worse)...and a tooth I previously had a root canal in has broken too. I'm trying to eliminate the possible causes of all my pain and hair issues one by one, but the first thing that comes to mind is how bad my teeth have been for the past year+.

Yeah, I took four ibuprofen and feel a little better (instead of the recommended three ibuprofen/two tylenol together). Odd thing is, I did try to get most of this stuff fixed in the past, but it always comes down to paying them... in which time the things get worse. I remember when this broken up tooth was a cavity. Now the frontal portion of my tooth is broken off where the cavity weakened it, and part of it is wedged in my gums.

Tamara, many dental offices will make a payment plan with you. The one where I had my wisdom teeth would anyways. You just have to shop around for one that will work with you. I loved this dental office because they were completely up front and honest about ALL of their costs ahead of time. Things even ended up being cheaper (some) than the quoted rates....
