Yeah. Trying to get laundry done, which is hard with the dryer broke. I'm going to start looking for a job soon.

Hi everyone. This is my first chance at the computer all weekend.

So here are my comments on the posts over the weekend.

I do not let my cats outside. I live next to a busy street and I have seen dogs and wild animals in the neighborhood. My cats don't have an urge to go outside.

On air conditioning. It is currently about 100 degrees at this moment. So air conditioning is practically a necessity. When I first bought my house it came with an in-wall unit in the living room which was better than nothing. But when I added central air the whole house became much more comfortable.

I was stung by a wasp today, it the inside knuckle of the right hand ring finger. It does not hurt at the moment.

Hi Terry.

The last three time I've been stung have been in the hand.

And I have had no problems beyond the sting area.

I am staying cool tonight. Tis in the upper 60's this evening. Feel free to send a few degrees this way if you want, I won't mind it being a little hotter if it helps others to stay cool.

I'm good. Got to go to bed soon, but I got a nap today, so I'm ok for awhile. How about y'all?

Sorry about your interrupted sleep, Lisa.

I drank a cup of coffee around 7 or so, so I'm awake. Have to take advantage of the fact that I won't be able to do this in a few weeks. In a little while, I'm going to curl up in bed and read an excellent fantasy novel that someone loaned me.

Hope you fall back to sleep soon, Lisa.

Esther, how was the praise music this morning?

Well, you know Shema our church doesn't do "praise" music. We're very traditional. But I did do "Me and Becky" by Chris Rice as a special.

How about at your church?

I did not know that. What hymns did you sing then? How was your special music?

I guess my church technically does "blended" worship although we usually only do one hymn. I'd prefer another one in the mix, but it all praises God in the end. Not a big deal to me either way.

My brother helped out today (our church is short of guitarists). We got to play guitar together. That's always extra special.

Awww....I love to play together with my family...

I prefer a blended service myself, but my little church has mostly older members, and they prefer hymns. Even so, I'm not allowed to rock the boat very much and teach them new hymns...they prefer the 60 or so that they know and do not want to learn new ones.

But yesterday it was a little more updated: in our hymnbook we have a few choruses that they will sing. So we sang I Will Sing Of The Mercies for call to worship. We also did Savior Like a Shepherd Lead Us, and Gentle Shepherd, for invitation we sang Precious Lord, Take My Hand.

As far as the special goes...most people at our church are not moved by anything if it's not 1) country or southern gospel and 2) about going to heaven. So Me and Becky was fun for me, my kids, and the fellow who was substituting for our pastor--and pretty much no one else. I'm learning how smart our new keyboard is, so I used a style and accompaniment to help me play--much easier than having to play everything myself.

Ok...now tell me about yours--you played guitar yesterday instead of piano? When you play piano do you use a chord chart or do you try to play from staff music?

On air conditioning...my air went out last month and I ended up with a window unit until it could get replaced. It was MISERABLE!!! And it was the beginning of June so the humidity wasn't quite as ridiculous as it could have been. You were only cool if you sat right in front of it. So I'd go take a shower, throw something on, and then run and sit in front of the air so I wouldn't sweat and defeat the purpose of my shower.

This weekend since I was gone I turned the air up to 80 and when I came home it was stifling. Thank God I have a new unit because it took less than an hour to cool down.

Air conditioning is not something one wants to mess with in Florida. *shudders*

Our house stays at 78-80 - I want to die it's so hot! Plus, as I'm getting older, I have my own heat furnace going on - and I am miserable. It's one reason why I make myself go into the office (I could work from home, if I wanted to) so I can stay cool. It's 72 in here, and feels GREAT!!!!!!!!

Yeah, 78-80 is definitely hot.

So Lisa, are you coming up with a new avatar?
