How many times can a man sin and repent before he loses his salvation altogether?

Sin is the rejection of salvation. Repentance is the rejection of sin.

If we continue to do 360's, continue to return to sin once we swear it off, then we are not really repenting, are we? If we do not repent, we are rejecting salvation.

I am not sure if that can be defined by a "number of occurrences". I don't know what faith you are, but incorporating a practice of a proper confession can motivate one to continue to re-examine habitual sin and to try harder to turn away from it; it gets hard to go to somebody once a month and confess the same sins.

One is likely to get pressure form the one hearing the confession to try to do something more to break the cycle - and this humbling experience will help break it.

Good point well made Doghouse,

But human nature is to sin. Not necessarily the same sin each time but different sins ... impatience, laziness, greed etc ... etc ...

No one, whether Christian or not, can claim he doesn't sin again and again. If he does, he is bending the truth, which is in itself a sin. Whether one goes to confession or not is immaterial - it is in human nature to sin.

Hence, back to my question: Is salvation lost when one sins?

Some on this Forum have claimed that once saved you are saved forever ... ??? Can't understand what they mean by this.
