That's cool, Donna. My video game rules (we have no system, so this is when they are elsewhere or on a 'puter) No killing visible humanoids No scantily clad women So, you can shoot a ship or an airplane, a robot or a monster, but not a person. Therefore, we do play Cow Hunter (or did when we had it) and yes, it was kinda gory...but we eat cows, too, lol.

donna, I want to share with you something that I was thinking about the other day that brought me to tears as I was going to our chiropractor: As you know, I had cancer and had to have my thyroid taken out which really bothered me because I will be dependent on pills every single day for the rest of my life. I know that this is small potatoes compared to what Brian is going through now, but it was really depressing to me. When I was three they shaved my hair off, took out a part of my skull and later put in a plate. that didn't bother me at all; I was still me and very much independent. When I was 20 they broke my upper and lower jaw in a few different places, rearranged it and put in a bunch of metal to hold it together. that's fine, I am still me, but perhaps a little better looking and a lot more healthy. Four years ago, they took out my uterus and put my innards back where they belonged. Ouch! that hurt a bit because I can't have any more babies... I am not the same as I was. BUT I am doing well and found many things that are so much better now. I was determined not to feel old and broken/ broken down. In May, they took out my thyroid. I felt old. I felt broken and broken down. I am NOT the same as I was at all. My scar still hurts and I am SOOO dependent on my meds. I was so depressed because I couldn't ever imagine feeling whole again, BUT... I have taken up running that I was convinced that I could NEVER do. I (who couldn't run 100 yards) am running 2 miles every other morning and then I go canoing in the afternoon, and still have energy leftover for more stuff. I also am exercising on the days that I am not running. My days seem fresher and more vibrant to me. And you know what? I feel better than I have felt for YEARS! I feel whole. I AM whole... God is teaching me what it is to let HIM make me whole instead of my body which is temperary, and that I don't need a perfectly functioning body to fully live and enjoy life. As I was crying and thinking about this, my thoughts turned to Brian. Brian will be whole too.

I love those verses, SharMar...always have. Thanks! Sarah... This afternoon, I started feeling mopey about how these last weeks of my last pregnancy have been spent. But then when I really thought about it...if Brian had not had the accident, I would probably not have seen him much this summer. He would have been busy working, working on cars, and getting firewood from the statelands on weekends. I would have been chasing all the kids by myself and been exhausted from that. This isn't how I would have planned it, but there have been good things too. Never before have I been able to tell my husband to move over in bed so I can snuggle with him in the middle of a sunny Saturday afternoon. Never before have I been so very appreciative of his very presence at home, without him needing to do a thing. Yeah, some things still really stink and I would not have chosen this, for sure (would any of us choose pain and so many unknowns, if we had a choice?). But God is so good and so faithful, and even when we can't understand, His plans for us ARE good.
