No one said raggedy, but modest and age appropriate would be good. And really, my beef isn't with the bras but with the underware from VS. It just isn't age appropriate.

But what about the pictures and atmosphere? That is what bothers me most, because of her age. Of course, we don't know her, so we don't know how she is affected.

That's interesting, since my sons are bothered by the photos and displays in the windows of the local VS store. It might not be a countrywide thing, though.

Have you been in a VS??? There are several collections each one is different. The "pink" is very modest and very cute. Pink is geared towards younger girls.

I, too, checked the website, and 'pink' is definitely not advertised for 10 year olds! ETA: As an example, there are thongs on there, and panties that say 'pink hot' on the rear. That is really not appropriate for a girl.

Sorry, Jenny, I deleted, and made your post not make sense. I deleted what I said, because I started thinking about the pictures in the front of our VS store..once inside our store though, it's just racks and racks of underthings. And I have seen underwear that is fun/cute, but isn't all about what you normally think of VS being all about. When I was a little girl, I had a set of underwear that had each day of the week and a picture on them, and I loved them. I also had different pairs of floral panties, stripes, etc. I have seen underwear at VS along those lines, and if, in fact that's what the op is buying for her dau. I don't see a problem with that. However, there are other garments there I have seen that would not be appropriate for a 10 year old.. and I guess there is no way of knowing exactly which kinds the op is buying.

Here there is a dog in the window that advertises the pink collection. There isn't any of the displays showing sexy things until you get in and walk past the first wall. In the front is the pink collection it isn't as showie as what is in the back.

It is just normal little panties that are cut in the boy shorts way with different designs and sayings on them. She isn't getting anything lacy or any type of thong. Actually she thinks that stuff is gross. She also likes to wear their appletinie body spray, it smells really good.

I'm sorry, but really, the 'pink' collection is advertised as COLLEGIATE wear and includes very immodest underwear. If I had a 10 yo girl she would most likely be wearing something more along the lines of hanes her way--something that covered her rear in case she tripped while wearing a skirt, and definitely no thongs or clothes with suggestive messages.

They aren't all like that. Just like if I bought her stuff at Walmart I would have things I would not approve of. They have boyshorts with cherrys on them, they have peace symbols on them, there is nothing wrong with them. They are modest. There are always tweens in there when we are there so apparently we aren't the only ones shopping there. Like I said they help me get her bras in the right size. She has to wear one and it is hard to find her size.

I can understand being hard to fit, I just do hope that you explain to your daughter that you are not aiming for the sexy VS look, but at being modest, and well-fitting clothes help with modesty.

There is nothing at all sexy about what we buy there. They have very modest well cut bras that we both wear.

I would not call those panties modest, actually. I would call them half-size, lol. But they are definitely not a thong.

Well, that and no one should be seeing her panties anyhow, so, I'm not sure how modesty even fits into the equation! Seriously, I don't think a girl needs to be wearing granny panties to be modest.

Seriously, I don't think a girl needs to be wearing granny panties to be modest. When my dd started high school (at age 11), and was wearing a school skirt (as part of the uniform), we considered it important for her to be wearing undies that covered her, for times of getting changed for PE, and also "just in case" the wind blew, or she tripped and fell over, or whatever. No-one is advocating "granny panties", just something that gives a bit more cover than low rise boy briefs.

At our school the girls are allowed to wear shorts or something they call "grungies" which are like the pants that the athletes who do running etc wear.

Those in the link did not look high enough to cover the crack in back, or to even stay on while playing.

I've worn 'em (similar styles from VS, not those specific line), and I believe it does cover what you say (although I'm starting to blush). Can't speak to staying on during school yard gymnastics.

I looked at the link (it didn't work before) and the girls there are not teenagers, they are young adults. I would not consider for a moment buying them for my daughter until she was 16!! Like Ryanne said it doesn't look age appropriate.
