How do you testify to a gift that keeps being opened. As if it was one of those little Chinese mystery boxes with all the secret compartments. Just when you think it is opening... you find another mystery compartment.

My life has been comprised of ever evolving change.... growth... new adventures. Adventures With God!

I think I have shared before that I was raised Catholic. My mom was a tough woman, a product of her upbringing. My sister who was 17 years older than me, married a Baptist man and converted her faith. She raised me for a few years when my mother took ill... and sent me to a Christian Camp in the San Bernardino Mountains in California when I was 13. It was there that all my thoughts about Jesus came to light... and I received Him as my Savior.

When I went home to my mom however, and told her of my conversion, she pointed her finger at me and said, "You were born a Catholic, and you'll die a Catholic." I was even afraid that that time was going to be then!

My mom wouldn't support me in my faith, would not allow me to attend church with my sister, and the youth group. So, at the ripe old age of 15, I rebelled and decided that I could do better on my own.

I ran away and got into as much trouble as I possibly could, did as many drugs as I could possibly find, and so on and so on. There were days that I didn't even know how I possibly made it through the night.... and after waking, and finding myself in the state I was in... wished I hadn't.

Between here and the next part (fast forward several years)... there are many other "testimonies" during that part of my life... but, suffice it to say that one day at the age of 29... I was passing a little Baptist Church (I am not a Baptist... but the Baptist Church will always hold a very dear place in my heart)... and thought, my kids need to be in church. So that Sunday... I dropped them off! ... As I drove home with my two babies (the older two went to church)... I felt a tapping on my shoulder and a small voice saying, "You need to be in there." Of course I ignored the voice, assuring myself that I loved God and He loved me, and all was well. The next week, the same thing happened. And the week after, and the week after that... til finally I said, "OK!" And I went... and the minute I walked through the doors of that little church, I felt like I was home... and I just wept.

There are many that might say of a kid like me... that I probably wasn't really saved. Or, there are those who might say, since I had backslidden, that the Holy Spirit left me.

Well... I am here to testify! The heart of that skinny little 13 year old blonde sincerely received Christ as her Savior... but even more... Christ received me into His loving arms and made me, that day, His heir! At the moment I received Him... ALL His promises were mine. And one of those promises was, "I will never leave you, nor forsake you."

Secondly... The Holy Spirit is God... and when God says, "I will never leave you, nor forsake you" He means it. God is not a man that He should lie. It is us who distance ourselves from God... He is always there, waiting for our return. When I placed myself within hearing distance; in other words... had a soften heart to hear, then I could hear the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit never left me... He was always there. Protecting me, covering me, hiding me... through all of the awful times I put myself through... and those that others put me through... the Holy Spirit was always there.

Praise God for His faithfulness to us... even when we are unfaithful. When all we deserve the most is to be dropped like a hot potatoe... He picks us up and carries us home.

I have been serving Him ever since... and I have never looked back!

I would have to testify to a praying Grandma and a praying mom ! If not for the covering of their prayers, I don't know if I would have made it through Viet Nam or my youth!

Amen.

I am at work reading this and tears of deep gratitude towards our Father are welling up. He IS truly faithful. I'm trying to fight off the urge to openly weep as I'm typing this!

I plead the blood over my children (even though they are grown and living on their own) every day... and my grandchildren. A few days ago was a testimony to that.

My daughter was on vacation with her family on the Colorado River. They (Her and her husband, and his aunt and uncle) were attempting to help a guy who's Seadoo quit on him... so they were going to tow him in with their boat. My daughter signaled to go... but at the very same instant realized she was seated on a loop in the rope. In her next breath as she was being yanked into the water off the boat... she was able to yell stop! Their uncle threw the boat in neutral, which stopped the props from turning as Melissa was being spun around under the boat 3 times right where the props would have been turning.

Praise God she only got bruised up and a little knocked around!... Our God hears the fervent prayers of many moms.

Another story:
A young hippie guy back in the late 60's, early 70's made his way into the Jesus Movement of that day and was saved from drugs and the life-style that follows. He is now a successful minister of the Word. One day when praying, he asked God, "How in the world did I get saved from that lifestyle... I never prayed about it." God answered him and said, "Your mother prayed."

That story made me stop and think about millions of moms all prying for their lost kids at the same time. Can you picture that?

Short Version:

I went to the Baptist church as a child but never really knew the Lord.
In 1983 I went to Cosmetology school where 97% were born again.
I was set free in '83 is my reminder. I gave my life to the Lord and tried to get myself right. He is always there no matter what.
Before 83 I was involved in a background of drugs/alcohol thinking that was cool. It was not.
I didn't know any better so I trusted the man I worked for from '72 til '05.
I let him "go" because I want my life to be better with the Lord's help.
Now every day I start my day with the Lord on the Internet. I spend my time here at Crosswalk learning more than I've ever learned in any church.
I am still looking for a new church and have one to go to tomorrow. The last one involved politics.
I can't/won't spend my time with the Lord where politics rule.
In my late 20's I experienced the miracle of life when a new foal or colt was born on the Equine Farm I worked at. I've had 2 wrecks where I was fine thanks to the Lord. One I stated the saying “this is it”, but it wasn't. The Highway Patrol said it was a miracle I was alive.
Now in '08 I am still learning about how wonderful our Father is and Jesus.

Our Precious Heavenly Father,
I give you ALL the praise, honor and glory that you so richly deserve.
I thank you each and every day I awaken to see there's a new one without sin in front of me.
You have given me my life and I trust you all the way Father.
In Jesus Name, Amen

Do you have a testimony? Of how you came to Christ?
Or... how God has been moving in your life lately?
Or... What miracles have you witnessed? In your life or someone else's?

my testimony starts at the age of 4!!! and continues on =)

question 2 is tough to answer:.... - in a lot of ways.
...last week, God put a lady in my path who was very ..... ummmmm ready to rededicate her life to the Lord, and He allowed me to minister to her.
question 3: I see miracles every day!!! they surround me!!
perhaps the biggest (that I am aware of) was watching a spot on my mom's lung disappear into nothing..... and hearing the Dr admit that it was a miracle.
