what lasted on air for years that you just could not watch?
For me, it was:

One Day at a Time

Beverly Hills 91210

Taxi

Seinfeld - The show about nothing was worth even less

Golf tournaments on TV

Taxi (Rev. Jim was the second worst character in the history of TV. Kramer was first)

Grey's Anatomy (it ran too long by the end of the first episode)

That's my short list.

According to Jim - I can't even begin to describe how much I hate the show and wish it would be canceled.

That might be because it was actually Beverly Hills 90210

But I agree...far too long

I think I read they're coming out with a NEW one (90210). Shannon Dougherty is going to be in it.

I still have hilarious memories of coming home from college to find that my sister had literally papered the walls in 90210 photos. Even over my bed. Creepy.

Seinfeld
Friends
Sex And The City
The Sopranos
NYPD Blue
ER (It was okay the first couple of years then went down hill)
Charlie's Angels
Married With Children
The Simpsons
Oprah
Every reality show that has ever been on TV
Jerry Springer
Maury
The View
Entertainment Tonight
60 Minutes (especially when Dan Rather was on it)
Anything with Connie Chung or Bryant Gumble

And those are just the ones I can think of off the top of my head.

The first one was bad enough this one will probally prove to be unfit for any child much less adult to watch.

Most Sit-coms - they simply are not funny - I never laugh at all at most....the worst of these would be:
GOmer Pyle, Mary TYler Moore, All in the Family, Friends, Sienfeld.

Maury is I know not what.
Beverley Hills90210 - these people couldn't act their way out of a paper bag.

I don't know what's considered long running, but here are some very popular shows (that might be long running), and I can't stand them:

Sex and the City
Friends (I learned to dislike this one intensely when I had pre teen daughters).
Countdown w/Keith Olberman (he is too cute ; I can handle about 2 minutes of his sophomoric schtick).

Those are the only ones that pop into my mind. Thankfully, I've forgotten a lot of the others.

Ditto! I've never even seen an entire episode of The View or Sex. I stopped watching Oprah back in the days she had Dr. Phil on every week. Yuk!

Add to my list also: every reality show ever; American Idol (which I've never watched more than 30 seconds)

Why are these shows still on???

I could go on and on. This is exactly why we almost entirely watch Food Network, DIY, HGTV (except for all those gay shows) and some History Channel stuff. Oh, and lots of the Weather Channel!

I hate to say this however the only show that's been mentioned that I can't stand is Jerry Springer......a lot of the other shows I actually enjoy watching or are just not favorites of mine but to say that I can't stand them is reaching.
