quote:
ORIGINAL: henny Confederecy of Dunces is one of my favorite books ever. I've read it three times. It's genius comedy. I guess everyone has different tastes. [:)] I guess so. Much as I'm not a big fan of Dickens, I would never rate him as the worst, and I love Shakespeare. Thankfully, I've forgotten the names of so many books I've read that weren't very good. But the one that I think is one of the worst is Last of the Mohicans. It is a confusing and just a poorly written book. When I read it in high school I thought I was the one who was messed up, because it's a classic, and hey, if I didn't like it or thought it was bad, then I had to be the one who didn't get it. Then I read Mark Twain's The Literary Offenses of Fenimore Cooper," and boy was I relieved. Twain nailed it. Oh, and just to be clear, Twain is speaking of two of the Leatherstocking Tales, but all of them are not good including Mohicans which is second. I guess Pathfinder and Deerslayer he considered the worst.
