You know I have to say I like the Doyle Lawson idea...you're right...it does look like him. [:D]

Come on Grandpa...put the mystery to rest and let us know who you really are!!!!

WhiteRoseBlessings -> RE: Should I say who I am at NQC? (7/16/2008 11:23:11 AM)

No, AmeriGrandpa - don't do it!

Keep that face of your veiled!

Oooh! Ok, I just thought of the perfect solution. [sm=icon_smile_idea.gif]

Go to NQC . . . wearing a veil over your face.
(No, not some frilly lacy bridal veil, but a slightly transparent, slightly opaque, mysterious, manly veil).

That way, people will know it's you . . . but they still won't know who you are.

Then, they will be able to say that they did at least see you at NQC.

No need to thank me.

My thoughts exactly!!!

Well upon closer inspection I must say (1) if the picture is actually of the poster, then (2) it does look like Doyle Lawson. Beard, parted gray/white hair hair combed to to the same side as Mr. Lawson, and a partially-receding hairline, with wavy hair.

Sound like a criminal report? [:D]

No...It sounds like Gary aka Utilityfielder!!! Sorry Gary...I couldn't resist saying that![:D][:D][:D]

I have to agree with you though...if it isn't Doyle Lawson then the picture sure looks like him even with that silly ? on his face.

So facial recognition software gives pics of Mr. Lawson and this outline an 80% probably. Also you can find that Mr. Lawson has a definite affinity for striped ties, in fact the one of Gospel Bluegrass Volume two even looks a lot like the one in the picture. So I understand why he would be considered a prime candidate by many.

I initially misread that as, "crime candidate".

It could be a case of identity theft, he used Mr. Lawson's picture to throw everyone off the mark - that's the mind of a criminal for sure, so SM may have read it right!! [:D]

I believe he said it was not a photo of himself. I think I remember him posting he did't even know who the photo was that someone else (maybe Adam Edwards) picked out the photo and fixed it for him. I am not even sure Adam knows who he is.

Alright white folks. Here's the deal. You can guess all you want but if you will come up with enough money I will tell you who the man is. Remember while I can be bought I am not cheap.
