Well...I'm trying to watch the Braves game tonight...we had a 4-0 lead then a 6-2 lead only to have a relief pitcher come in load the bases and they scored....Now tied 6-6!

Has anyone heard if Santa made it to Savannah ok????

Well, if you look at a real buckeye, and one of your "jets" you would know why we call them buckeyes!!!

Janis

One difference is we completely dip it in chocolate and my friend would leave a bit of the peanut butter ball uncovered to make it look like the actual "buckeye"...is that what you're referring to??

Our's may be called jets because they disappear quickly like a jet!!!

Oh, yes! You always leave a spot without chocolate to make it look like a buckeye. It wouldn't be a buckeye without the "bald" spot!!

Janis

Hi Daniel,

Are you still carless?

Yes. I expect to be so through mid-November or so. (At least, by that point I'm expecting to have the money to start searching, but that doesn't mean I'll find one immediately.)

What kind of car do you seek? And what's your budget?

Hi Daniel,

Are you still carless?

When I first read that I read it careless and I wondered what Daniel had been careless about!!! Sure does help if you read (or type) correctly!!

Janis

I had to read that twice, too!

Well the Braves just tied the game 8-8!!!

I'm going to go and finish the game...bottom of the 8th. I'm also working on cross stitching 6 stockings...just got them cut out and started stocking #1. I'm cross stitching a different snowman scene on each one. The front will be the cross stitch and the back will be fabric plus lining. I haven't done any cross stitching in a while...finally got interested again recently but I'm finding it hard to find materials. Walmart quit selling it last year and most Walmarts have done away with their fabric/craft depts. too. I guess it's a good thing there is a Michaels and AC Moore in town...still they have limited supply. I guess I will have to put a stop at my favorite needle craft store on my list of things to do when I go home for my sister's birthday party.
You all have a good night and I'm praying for those in the path of Hurricane Gustav...looking like a nasty storm. They are still talking like Hanna could turn into a hurricane and right now the are saying it could hit either Florida or the South Eastern US...well...needless to say I'll be watching very closely to see where that storm goes. Telling you if it's heading our way as a Hurricane Im heading to the hills...literally.

Goodnight everyone!

I have a crossstitch project I've been working on (off and on) for almost 7 years. It's big, and very nice, but I sure would like to finish it one of these days.

I should make stockings for the kids too, maybe I'll finish them before they get married. LOL!

Since we're talking cross-stitching, I bought a cross-stitch kit in the Outer Banks in March. It's a picture of all of the lighthouses in the Outer Banks. I love it!! I haven't started it yet; we've had a huge home improvement project going on since February, and it won't likely be finished until October. Maybe after that, I will be able to do the cross-stitch project.

I was thinking about sewing them...found a nice McCall's quilted pattern but decided I was in the mood to cross stitch. I'll have to pull out the sewing machine eventually when I get the fronts done but didn't want to pull it out and have the dining room all tore up for a few days. Eventually I will have sewing/craft room. Until then I store everything in my bedroom walk-in closet and the diningroom table.

I'm really going this time...goodnight for real!!!

We are here.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. Very frustrating first 3 hours here. The unit we got onlly had one bath and we were supposed to have two. Called RCI and they moved to a different complex and said the people at the desk where we ck'd in would give us directions. Only no one seemed to know where to go to ck in. We went here, there, everywhere and back to the beginning when someone finally got the right people on the phone and where we needed to go was less than a 1/2 mile from where we were moving from. Took over 2 hours to find it. Riding around in circles. But we have eaten and now back to settle in and RELAX!!!!

Hi everybody,

It has been a beautiful day in Kansas, so I have been outside most of it.

I have talked to Pam. Her father is still in the hospital, the doctors are not sure what the problem is. And now she has to secure their property from the approach of Gustave. He cousin has come to help, but she has been working at it all day.

Hey Gary and Everyone...seems like it has been forever since I've been on the threads. My family and I have had a most stressful summer looking forward to Fall...well after Hurricane season that is
Thank ya'll for all your prayers my father is in the step down ICU unit with possible Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever. He has Multiple Scleroisis already and was bit last Saturday by an insect so he is very ill. Please continue to pray for us and also remember our coastal area during Gustav's arrival...................Gary, are you sure you wanna come see me during Hurricane season dude!

Time to say nighty night. I thought I had recorded all of the Saddleback Civil Forum to watch, but when I played it I had missed Senator Obama's session and only taped Senator McCain's part.....so I had to stay up and watch the first half when it was repeated at Midnight. Now my eyes are heavy and the yawning is getting continuous....bedtime!!!

Hope everyone has a good Lord's Day tomorrow.....whoops! I mean today!

Sleep tight!

Janis

Good morning, everyone!

Dinana and my parents should start their trip back to Georgia today. I'm praying that they don't hit a lot of heavy traffic due to the Gulf Coast evacuations! I want them home.......safe and sound!
