Yea, I don't know what to do about bed time and rising time. I'm scared to let them sleep in too long because DH and I are ready for bed around 10 and I find myself up around 7 and I don't want them to stay up late and accidently wake us. I also like to have our house cleaned up in the morning... but maybe we could do that at night. I don't know!!

Things have mellowed out around here for now. I think I am the one that needs to "grow up", mellow out, and not let my CHILDREN get to me. That is what they are! Sometimes I WISH I could train them without yelling and getting cranky at them.

Homegrown, with all your late nights with Noah maybe you are the one who needs to sleep in?

My guys do have bedtimes, but they get up whenever. My only rule is that the kitchen closes at 9am. So if you want breakfast... We used to start school at 9am. However, since my workouts started getting longer, we've been starting school later. Ds1 works mostly on his own, I just have to grade his work. Ds2 is getting there. Ds3 is getting there, too. I still have to work one-on-one with ds4. Somehow, some way, we get school done, as well as day-to-day chores. AND some afternoons I even get a nap!!!

Ds2 had his ingrown toenails surgicated this mornig. They were getting really bad. Hopefully this will fix it once and for all.

I was up at 5:30, at the gym by 6:30. I swam and ran. Came home, took ds2 to the doctor. Now, I'm ready to go back to bed!

i am glad that #2 got his nails taken cared of. the HURTS!

My kids gather on our bed at 8 and go to bed as we finish reading each of their books. We read one story for all of them if we get a late start.

On a day like today, with all the rain and dark clouds, this sounds like a splendid idea!!!

I got done with school with 2 children, we did out Bible time this morning when I felt like everything was so hectic... things mellowed after that. Now, I am hoping to get some house work done and do school with 6 yr dd. Tomorrow we have an appt. in the morning, and a play practice for oldest dd in the afternoon and I keep letting it slip my mind!!! There are some days when I know that I know that I know that there are things going on... and then there are other times, like now, when something slips my mind and then I remember it and then I forget again, and then I remember! It's kinda like having a flower and doing "she loves me, she loves me not".... I hope I land on the right flower pedal in the morning!!

Not since Sunday. I 'see' Brandon online from time to time.

Hm. Well I guess he's not a baby anymore...
I think I'll file my LOI (Letter of Intent to Homeschool) on Friday. I might take two of my homeschooling neighbors with me. We can have a mommy field trip.

I called the Mystery of History people and asked if my book had been shipped. She said it went out media mail on Saturday, August 16. Hopefully it will be here before Tuesday.

He was chatting with Ash last night, so as of then he was still alive.

The kids wanted to go to the thrift store today, so I took them with the understanding that I am going nowhere this weekend. There are a bunch of it's-almost-fall type projects that we need to get done, and besides, I am tapped out money wise. I think I have enough gas to get to work and back when I need to, but I might end up rolling the penny jar. The kids had their own money and got a lot of clothes they needed for a fairly small amount of cash, so they are happy.

It looks like rain. It is allowed to rain today and tomorrow, but not Friday or Saturday. I'm thinking that if the world has not bowed to Jennifer's wishes, maybe it'll bow to mine.

Good luck with that. If it does happen to obey, put in a few good words for me, k?

Cindy--you should have some very nice rain on the way. Just a nice steady rain. It just drizzled for my run this morning. Later, we got that real rain. I was bumming!!! Looks like it's done, too, so I won't get to run in the rain tomorrow either

Cynthia--I hear you about waiting for the mail. I ordered a wetsuit over a month ago. The company sat on our order for a good couple weeks, then they shipped it. Except they sent it to Bella Bicycles in Maryland, not Bella Multisport in Ohio. I needed it for my race last weekend.

His, That would make me mad.

How slow is media mail? At this rate, it may not be here till the middle of September. I am very dissatisfied with the lax approach to customer service of Bright Idea Press.

Okay. Thank you for that information. Based on that, it is likely to be here by the middle of next week at the latest.

The woman I spoke to at Bright Ideas Press is the same one who called to tell me she was mailing out the book. She is very nice, but sincerely think the owners someone to explain proper customer service to them. A company can have a wonderful product, but if they make it frustrating to get or to get information about, they will lose customers.

Cynthia--I hear you! Did I mention it was Blue Seventy that messed up my wetsuit order???

I did get to run in the rain this morning. Okay, it was heavy drizzle. But, at 62* and drizzle, it was perfect weather for a run! Things are finally starting to green up. I don't think it rained all of August.

No doubt I'll be glued to the 'puter all day today, waiting for updates on Donna...

Question asked:

Dear Blabby,

How does one go about making a sword?

Swords Crafter!!!!

Answer Given by my 14.5yo son:

Dear Crafter,

First you take your enchanted chopstick and heat it to red with a sweet-&-sour packet then you tap it six times one your plate, now wipe it off with a napkin of ages and secure two toothpicks of Apocalypse to it with a piece of sweet-&-sour chicken made on the full moon,(S&S chicken made on any other day will suffice but give a lesser sword,) all this can be had at most Chinese buffets.

~Blabby

(On the off chance that you really want to make a REAL sword; I'm a blacksmith and mom directed me here, it would take me over 50,000 words to explain it... try making a hook first.)

I love it. hehehehe! too bad there are too many words for a sig!
